10 Fan Favorite Experiences in Epcot’s Future World

Futureworld

One of the two thematically different lands at Epcot, Future World is home to many experiences that guests have come to know and love! It is always difficult when we visit Epcot and only have a limited amount of time for us to decide what to do and what we have to save until the next time. If you are planning a trip to Epcot soon, here is our list of the top ten fan favorite activities!

10 – Spaceship Earth – the visual weenie of the park, Spaceship Earth takes guests on a journey through the history of communication and technology. Guests will love this relaxing ride, so much so they may want to ride it twice. Our only advice is to not ride this attraction first thing since it does seem to collect the early arriving guests quickly driving a wait time to more than thirty minutes. Wait until later in the day and wait times will be a much more manageable five to ten minutes.

9 – Epcot Character Spot – located in the breezeway headed toward the Land Pavilion, the Epcot Character Spot allows guests to meet and greet some of their favorite classic Disney characters. On a recent trip, we were able to meet and have our photos taken with Goofy, Pluto, and Minnie Mouse! This attraction can be popular for families with small children, so you may want to consider using one of your FastPasses on it if you really want to meet these characters.

8 – Journey Into Imagination – even though some may argue that this attraction is in need of an update, we always have a great time riding this attraction. Figment, everyone’s favorite purple dragon, takes guests on a ride showcasing the power of imagination. We don’t always do this attraction on our trips, but love it when we do. Wait times usually are very low, so you won’t need to use a FastPass on this one!

7 – Coral Reef Restaurant – located in the Seas Pavilion, we love this restaurant! Guests can feast on a variety of seafood dishes, while enjoying a magnificent view into the aquarium that runs the entire length of the restaurant. Guests may want to arrive for their reservation early and see if they can request a seat right next to the aquarium – even if they can’t accommodate your request, guests will have a good view from any table!

6 – Mission: Space – for the thrill seekers in your group, Mission: Space takes guests to Mars! Our family loves this attraction because guests can choose their thrill level! Guests who want a tamer ride can select the Green ride experience. Guests who want the true thrill should select the Orange experience. We have done both and both are enjoyable! The Green experience does not have the centrifugal forces so is easier on people who suffer from motion sickness.

5 – Garden Grill – another fabulous dining option! This restaurant is located in the Land Pavilion and is served family style. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner here and are treated to rotating views as they dine! Guests will be able to look into the Living with the Land ride during their meal – a complete rotation takes about an hour, which is how long it takes to eat your meal AND meet and greet with the characters – Chip and Dale, Mickey, and Pluto!

4 – Soarin’ Around the World – the newest addition to the attractions at Epcot, Soarin’ Around the World is an update to the extremely popular ride. No longer are guests treated to views of California, but of sights around the world! The Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Tower, and the Taj Mahal are some of the highlights guests are sure to see during their next flight. This attraction is very popular, so reserve a FastPass or hit it first thing before lines get too crazy!

3 – Living with the Land – even though some guests may not find this attraction thrilling, we enjoy taking this boat ride to relax and to learn more about farming and the environment. We also enjoy seeing some of the vegetables and fish that will be used in some Disney restaurants – we also always have an eye peeled for hidden Mickeys!

2 – Test Track – located in Future World East, Test Track allows guests to design their own concept car using various add-ons to see how power, wind sheer, and engine type impact overall design and efficiency. Again, this attraction is very popular, so get a FastPass or ride early. Guests can also take advantage of the single rider line, but be aware that you may not be able to design your own vehicle in this line!

1 – IllumiNations – a nighttime favorite when we visit Epcot, IllumiNations is a wonderful show that is shown nightly in the World Showcase Lagoon, but we enjoy grabbing some popcorn or coffee and watching the show from Future World since it allows us to beat the hordes of people leaving the park after it is over!

Future World has much to offer and to explore, but these are our top ten fan favorites! Try some on your next trip and let us know what you think!
