1. You Can See Owl Receiving The Deed From Mr. Toad

Before Winnie the Pooh, there was a ride called “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride”. Many hardcore Disney fans were devastated to see it go. As a small consolation, you can see Mr. Toad handing over the deed to the ride to Owl in a picture on Owl’s wall.

2. The Familiar Voice From The Hundred Acre Woods

Pooh has the most distinct and sweet voice, but the man who voices him in the attraction has done more than just Winnie the Pooh. Jim Cummings can be heard in all sorts of Disney movies: Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Aladdin, Hercules, Tarzan, and Lion King. Think you may have heard him in another place in the parks? You have! He is the narrator for Illuminations in Epcot.

3. A Bear In A Belly Shirt Brings In The Big Bucks

The gift shop at the end of the ride makes a lot of sense when you hear this crazy fact. Pooh ranks next to Mickey Mouse as the top-selling character for The Walt Disney Company. We always knew Winnie the Pooh was popular, but wow!

4. There’s A Fun Way They Make You Bounce Like Tigger

Ever wondered how you bounce like Tigger? Even though we like to assume it’s Disney magic, which of course it is, it’s actually because of a Motion Enhanced Vehicle. Like Star Tours, the front of the top part of your “Hunny-Pot” is built like a motion simulator and gives that “bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy, fun, fun-fun, fun-fun” feeling.

5. Pooh’s Queue Has So Much To Do

If you always go for a FastPass reservation on this ride, we understand, but you may be missing out on some brilliant interactive games. Make sure you crawl through Eyore’s quirky leaning home and definitely don’t forget to draw shapes in the dripping honey. You may find other sticky surprises hiding in the honey as well!

6. There’s An Ode To 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea

It seems Pooh wanted to show some great respect to some past Fantasyland attractions. Right outside the attraction itself is a tree house for Pooh and all his friends. This is a great play area for your kids if you haven’t checked it out before. Inside the tree house are several carvings into the wood; if you look closely, you can see a Nautilus from the extinct attraction etched into the tree.

7. There’s A Name For What Makes Pooh Float In The Dream Sequence

Did you know there’s a special illusion method used when you watch Pooh float away? It’s called Pepper’s Ghost Illusion and is used in different entertainment venues around the world; it’s even used in another spot in Disney World. You can see this kind of technology being used in the ballroom scene in Haunted Mansion. It’s a trick of the eye using glass and different lighting techniques. Pretty cool, huh?
