11 Reasons Why I Should Live in a Tree House in Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life

Ok, I’ve thought a lot about it and I’ve come to a conclusion – I’m going to ask the Disney Imagineers if they’ll build a tree house in the Tree of Life where I can live. Think 1 part “Swiss Family Robinson” and 2 parts “Property Brothers” or “Love it or List It” from HGTV and my treehouse would be complete. I can see it now… a winding staircase that stretches up to my abode, designed and built by Disney Imagineers and guarded by Disney Cast Members. Running water, electricity, and a small pool would also be great, and if they have time, a waterfall to add a relaxing hum of nature to the entire jungle-feel. That’s what I picture in my head but as to my choice of location, here are 5 reasons why my new house should be situated in Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life:

1. I’d finally be able to get close enough to the Tree of Life to see all the incredibly beautiful animal carvings. I spent my last trip at Animal Kingdom trying to get the best view of the Tree of Life clear of brush and other trees hanging in my field of vision. 2. I’d be steps away from The Tusker House Restaurant in Africa! An all-you-can-eat buffet of African food with Indian flavor – what’s not to love? Plus I’d get my daily dose of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy who frequent the African eatery!

3. There would always be Mickey Mouse shaped ice cream treats nearby plus the Tusker House Bar where I could get a tall, cold bottle of Tusker Lager – a famed brew in Africa!

4. As part of my accommodations in The Tree of Life, I’d also have a jeep like those used at Kilimanjaro Safaris and I’d be cleared to drive around and visit all the animals on the safari ride! I’d probably go in the early morning or at dusk when the animals are most active.

5. I could check out fabulous street performers – like DJ Anaan and his lovely Bollywood-esque dancers in Asia or the finest musicians in all of Harambe performing their rhythmic Afro-pop!

6. Should I take in a broadway-caliber show today? Sure! Finding Nemo the Musical enchants and inspires with its’ brightly colored costumes and talented dancers. I’d probably host the after-show party for the performers in my tree house pad!

7. I’ll be part of the Circle of Life visiting the Festival of the Lion King whenever I want! Fire-throwing tribal performers, colossal puppets, dancers, singers, and acrobats will provide daily delight!

8. Pocahontas and I would be “besties” with our standing lunch date at the Yak and Yeti Restaurant in Asia. Maybe I’d even learn to “Paint with all the colors of the wind” under her tutelage.

9. In the mood for a thrill? I’d head to Asia and take in Kali River Rapids, or maybe just push the green button soaking riders with showers of water from the observation deck above. Or I could hang with my cave-dwelling Yeti friend at Expedition Everest and scream my head off twisting and turning on his roller coaster.

10. I’d get some great exercise just walking between Africa and Asia, Discovery Island Trails, Maharajah Jungle Trek – I don’t think I’d every grow tired of the beauty, the exotic animals and the hum of visitors enjoying the park.

11. And here’s another reason why The Tree of Life would be the perfect place for my new tree home – Flick could be my roommate. The friendly blue ant could chill at our treehouse between his performances in “It’s Tough to be a Bug.” I’m sure he’d encourage me to be kind to all bugs, and I would make a point never to swat, stomp or squish any of the tiniest celebrities at Animal Kingdom Park – home to my cozy treehouse.

What would you look forward to doing if you lived in a tree house in the Tree of Life? We’d love to hear your ideas!
