I absolutely love to visit Downtown Disney on all my Disney World trips. Not only is it completely free, but there is so much to do there. Filled with shopping, dining, and unique entertainment experiences, Downtown Disney has plenty to do for guests of all ages. This is my list of the 12 things you don’t want to miss at Downtown Disney.

12. World of Disney

So you’re looking for Disney apparel? They have a room for that. How about Disney home décor? Yep, there’s a room for that too. Disney jewelry? You guessed it, there’s a room for that too! This ginormous Disney store has anything and everything you can think of. Also known as the largest Disney store in the world, this store is definitely a ‘must-do’ while in Downtown Disney.

11. Disney’s Days of Christmas

Whether you are looking for a festive Disney ornament or a Mickey Mouse gingerbread house, chances are you will find something that catches your eye in this Christmas store. From the moment you walk in the door, it’s like you’re transported directly to Christmastime. Even if it’s July! Here you will find hundreds of Disney themed ornaments, stockings, and so much more. Everyone’s home is a little more cheery with some Disney holiday décor!

10. The Art of Disney

You know when someone says Disney and that one image pops into your head? Well, chances are you will find a beautiful painting here that seems like it was pulled straight from your imagination. Besides paintings, they have equally beautiful prints and posters. You can even get a print of an attraction poster. It’s always a fun conversation piece to hang on the wall at home!

9. The Lego Store

This store is fun to walk through even if you don’t plan on buying anything. There are hundreds of different types of Legos for sale in countless different colors. There’s even a space for the little ones to show their creative side and test out some of the Legos. As you walk up to the store, you’ll notice a few characters made completely out of Legos. This is a great opportunity for a fun photo op!

8. Once Upon a Toy

Once Upon a Toy, or should I say kid heaven, is the ultimate Disney toy store. This store is filled with toys, toys, and more toys! It has numerous interactive displays and every classic children’s toy you can think of. This store is designed for kids, but don’t let that stop you from taking a peek inside. You might even find something that sparks an old childhood memory!

7. Disney’s Candy Cauldron

You don’t even have to go inside to see what this magical candy store has to offer. You can watch cast members cooking up some delicious treats from right outside the store window. Once inside, the delightful smells captivate you. From candy apples to cupcakes, this store is your one stop shop for anything sweet!

6. Ghirardelli Ice Cream Shop

Here you will find some of the best ice cream in all of Walt Disney World, paired with mouthwatering toppings and treats. The extensive menu is sure to have something for everyone. You can even get a hot fudge sundae paired with a homemade brownie! So save room for after dinner!

5. Margarita Bar

This is one of Downtown Disney’s “hidden gems”. Situated right next to the water, this spot is the perfect place to relax. It’s all outdoors, but the umbrellas and tables offer a nice break from the hot Florida sun. The menu is filled with fun margarita options as well as beer and wine choices. The live entertainment sets the mood for a relaxing break from a hectic Disney vacation.

4. Disney Quest

Disney Quest is a great place to go if it’s raining or if you’d rather just spend a day inside, but still want that Disney fun. It’s a basically an indoor theme park, complete with virtual rides and classic arcade games. But just so you know, it does require a separate admission ticket!

3. Cirque de Soleil

This is one of those things that really put Disney over the top. For so many people Disney is looked at as a place for kids only. But they couldn’t be more wrong. There are so many things for adults to do at Disney and this is one of them. It is an extraordinary visual experience bursting with music and acrobatics. If you’re looking for a something unique to do on your vacation, this is it!

2. Splitsville Luxury Lanes

This bowling alley has it all! From bowling lanes, to billiards tables, and even live music, you are sure to have a blast here. Food options range anywhere from cheeseburgers to sushi! It’s definitely another fun rainy day activity for the whole family!

1. Characters in Flight

When you take a trip to any of the Disney theme parks you get to ride all sorts of different attractions. But there’s only one place on Disney property where you can ride it a hot air balloon. And that’s at Downtown Disney! This big balloon, decorated with Disney characters can be seen from miles away when in flight. This is a chance to do something completely unique. It’s definitely worth a try!

Downtown Disney is a must do for so many people when on a Disney World vacation and these 12 things make it easy to see why. There is so much to do here for guests of any age. It’s sure to become a tradition to visit Downtown Disney on each of your Disney trips.
