1) A Stitch In Time Saves 9. While you can just show up at the Magic Kingdom at noon in the middle of summer with no plan, that is not the best use of your time and money. Be willing to give up your seat on the monorail for a mom holding a sleeping baby. Be patient when someone in an ECV is loading onto a bus. Let a child stand in front of you at a parade. A little kindness goes a long way!

3) Live a little! Disney World can certainly accommodate the budget-conscious traveler. There are well-themed, clean resort accommodations for every budget. Disney counter-service restaurants serve a variety of good meals. With that being said, give yourself permission to enjoy your vacation. Splurge for a nice sit-down meal in one of the parks or hotels. Buy that souvenir you want. Jump up and dance during the parades. Be eccentric! Don’t wait for old age to wear purple!

Decide ahead of time how much you can realistically spend on your vacation. Don’t put your family in debt for years to come. Consider putting a deposit down as much as a year in advance and then pay off the balance slowly. Disney will allow you to pay towards your vacation a little each month or week. You can book a vacation package that includes accommodations, tickets, dining and other activities. That way, when it’s paid off, you can enjoy your trip stress-free! Start a Disney savings account. Use a credit card that offers airline miles or other rewards. Save your change. Every little bit helps.

5) When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile! If you like sweet treats and other snacks, you will love the offerings at Disney World! In case you didn’t know, there are no calories at Disney. Grab a Mickey Bar in the Magic Kingdom. Stop by the French bakery in Epcot. Your mouth will water! Get a carrot cake cookie at the Disney Studios.
