5 Reasons Why Your Kids Will Love Epcot

Epcot Mickey

When my parents took me to Disney World for the first time when I was 7, we did not stop at Epcot. My parents did not think that Epcot was going to be a good choice for us because there was not much for kids to do there. But, things have changed since then. There is plenty for children to see, do, and explore while they are at Epcot and here are our top five reasons why your kids will love Epcot, too!

5 – Princesses and Characters – while some guests may head right for the Magic Kingdom when wanting to meet classic Disney princesses and characters, don’t be so quick to count out Epcot. Currently, guests can meet and greet Disney princesses at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can also meet Mulan, Snow White, Belle, Aurora, and Jasmine throughout the countries of World Showcase. Kids who are looking for classic characters are able to meet them at the Epcot Character Spot across from Innoventions West as you head towards the Land Pavilion. Be sure to consult your Times Guide on who is available where and when!

4 – Kidcot Fun Stops – in addition to our #1 on the list, the Kidcot stations are designed to add some fun to the countries of World Showcase for younger children. Kids can visit a station at each country to learn a little about the country and participate in a small arts and crafts activity. It is an added bit of fun for the kids because not every Kidcot Fun Stop is easily seen as you approach the country, so it allows your kids the opportunity to explore the pavilion a little to find the station!

3 – Edutainment – Epcot is the pioneer of “edutainment” –the combination of education and entertainment. This is best seen in some of the rides in Future World – kids can learn about plants and gardening at Living with the Land, or explore the possibilities of imagination at Journey into Imagination with Figment, or even learn about the effects of design on vehicles at Test Track. Disney did a wonderful job disgusting these learning opportunities with plenty of entertainment that both you and your kids will enjoy.

2 – Great Restaurants – between all of the restaurants in World Showcase, as well as the Garden Grill and the Coral Reef Restaurant, there is a meal for anybody’s tastebuds at Epcot. Kids will enjoy being involved in the decision-making process of where the family is going to eat, as well as exploring new tastes from different areas of the world. If they are not as adventurous, there are plenty of regular options throughout the park.

1 – Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure – an adventure for the older kids, Agent P’s offers a chance for kids to track down evil doers throughout World Showcase using clues and their own personal handheld device. Each adventure lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, so it is the perfect length regardless of how long you are spending in World Showcase. Kids wishing to sign up for the game can do so on the bridge from Future World to World Showcase.

Regardless of how the adults in your group choose to spend their time, the kids will have plenty to find to enjoy on your next trip to Epcot! What do you kids like to do when they are at Epcot?
