5 Restaurants in Hollywood Studios That Make the Park the Place to Dine

Hollywood Studios is currently home to a bevy of stage shows and thrill rides and is currently undergoing a complete re-imagining with the additions of Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land. However, we still love visiting Hollywood Studios during any trip for one reason – FOOD! Hollywood Studios is home to the best themed restaurants on property. Here is our list of the five restaurants that make Hollywood Studios the place to dine!

5 – Hollywood and Vine – located just inside the front gates of Hollywood Studios, Hollywood and Vine is the buffet dining location inside of the park. Guests can eat here morning, noon, or night and can also dine with some Disney favorites – during breakfast and lunch, guests can visit with characters from Disney Junior (Doc McStuffins, Jake, Sofia the First, and Handy Manny). Throughout the year, guests can also dine with classic Disney characters during special seasonal offerings. Regardless of the meal that you choose to eat here, you’ll love the food that is offered. There is a variety of options for guests and an assortment of desserts, so definitely save some room for dessert!

4 – The Hollywood Brown Derby – guests will love the Hollywood Brown Derby for a special occasion. The menu features some fancier options to satisfy your palette – lamb, pork chops, duck, salmon, and the famous Cobb salad are among the menu options for your meal! Dessert here is also noteworthy – we love the grapefruit cake! If the menu seems too intimidating (or if you can’t get into the restaurant), be aware that there is a Brown Derby Lounge where you can sample on other food options – sliders, shrimp, and a charcuterie board to name a few. The food is in the same class, but the prices at the lounge are much more affordable.

3 – Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano – this restaurant is a hidden gem! Located in the Muppets Courtyard area of the park, Mama Melrose’s offers a variety of traditional Italian favorites to satisfy your cravings! Our family has eaten here on each of our last four trips because it offers something for everyone – the appetizer menu allows guests to have mussels, flatbread, or salad. On the entrée menu, guests have their choice of a variety of pastas (seafood cioppino, lasagna, chicken and penne pasta, or traditional spaghetti and meatballs), as well as heartier fare – a char-grilled strip steak, saltimbocca, or fish! In addition to the wonderful menu, you’ll love the eclectic theming that comes with a meal here!

2 – 50’s Prime Time Café – located near the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, 50’s Prime Time Café allows guests to have the classic homestyle meals of their youth! Pork chops, pot roast, lasagna, chicken pot pie, meatloaf, and fried chicken for starters – and don’t worry, if you can’t choose just one of them, you can get the sampler that allows you to have three of the selections! Guests will love the theming – be sure to mind your manners and clean your plate or else you won’t be allowed to enjoy dessert. Guests also have an amazing selection of adult beverages and milkshakes to complement their meals! For the perfect throwback, be sure to try the peanut butter and jelly milkshake!

1 – Sci-Fi Dine-In – Sci-Fi Dine-In seems to create a “love it or hate it” reaction amongst guests, but the difficulty in finding reservations and the long standby waits seem to indicate that most of the guests are decidedly in the “love it” column! The menu offers traditional American fare one would find at a drive-in – we are a big fan of getting an order of fried pickles to start the meal off with, followed by a burger or sandwich and one of the savory dessert choices. But, what drives this meal into first place is the theme – even though you are inside a building, guests feel like they are sitting in a vintage car, enjoying a meal, and watching clips of classic movies. The menu has undergone a revision so guests can find a greater variety of food options, but regardless of your choice, you’re guaranteed to enjoy the experience!

Hollywood Studios is not just home to thrill rides and stunt shows. It is home to amazing, themed dining that can take guests to another time and place or transport them right back home like they are sitting at their own kitchen table. Try any of these five restaurants and you’ll quickly see why Hollywood Studios is place the come to for dining! What is your favorite restaurant on the list?
