5. Nighttime Entertainment
At night, Disney Resort Hotels come alive with music, live entertainment, unique clubs, dancing, and a wide range of adult or family activities. There are movies under the stars, stories around a campfire, and for those nature enthusiasts who are guests of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, there are nightly hour-long safaris in an open-sided safari vehicle. Included with this one-of-a-kind nighttime safari are handy night-vision goggles for viewing such animals as zebras, gazelles, ostriches, deer, and more exotic African species. Another very popular nighttime entertainment can be found at Port Orleans/Riverside at the River Roost Lounge. There is an amazing performer whose name is Yehaa Bob Jackson, who is an accomplished pianist, comedian, and entertainer extraordinaire and has been captivating audiences of all ages at the River Roost Lounge for twenty years. Every time he performs, there is standing room only. Bob gets all the guests, adults and children, involved in his sing-alongs, while he plays his ragtime piano which rocks back and forth while he plays and sings popular Disney tunes, while he gets the audience involved with fun-filled sing-alongs. Children enjoy the show as much as the adults, especially when Bob has them marching around the room to familiar Disney theme songs. He creates an atmosphere of pure, unadulterated, family friendly, fun and frivolity. In between his sessions, Bob mingles with the crowd, poses for pictures and autographs, and needless to say, keeps the crowds coming back for more. It’s a free show you don’t want to miss.
