6 Hidden Gems in Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World guests often go through the parks busily, without taking in everything Disney has to offer. Here are a few overlooked attractions that I feel are too good to miss out on.

6) Conversations on Main Street USA:

As you’ve read, Magic Kingdom is full of hidden surprises you might just not know about. If you stop and listen closely on Main Street USA, you can hear conversations between people living in the “apartments.” To hear this, go over to the road to the right of Main Street, where you can sit back, listen, and take in the Main Street USA atmosphere.

5) Casey’s Corner Pianist:

While walking through the hustle and bustle of Main Street USA, take a moment to stop and listen to the Casey’s corner pianist. His improv skills and vast repertoire will make you want to listen to him play all day long. He plays in 20 minute increments, multiple times throughout the day. Watch the performance and listen to the jazzy tune which gives Main Street its light and upbeat feel.

4) Electrical Water Pageant:

Before you even step foot inside the Magic Kingdom Park, you can watch the electrical water pageant. This water parade is often overlooked by park guests trying to quickly leave, but I recommend taking a seat and watching it go by. The nightly electrical water pageant is similar to the electrical parade found inside the park. The music and lights are comparable, but there are more showings and viewing areas of the water pageant. All of the Magic Kingdom area resorts (the Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Wilderness Lodge) have great views of the pageant as well.

3) Wishes Dessert Party:

On the pathway from Main Street to Tomorrowland is a tasty hidden treat found at the Tomorrowland Terrace Station. The Wishes dessert party uses the seasonal restaurant to provide a nightly celebration where food and fireworks come together in a truly magical experience. You’ll watch with an unobstructed view of the fireworks all the gourmet desserts and beverages your heart desires. Separate tickets must be purchased for this special event, which starts one hour before Wishes begins.

2) Swiss Family Treehouse:

Adventure is out there, but sometimes it may just take a little looking for. The Swiss Family Tree House, located in Adventureland itself, is a walk through attraction of a spacious tree house. Both kids and adults will enjoy exploring, because really, who doesn’t love tree houses? Along your way, you’ll view various scenes from the Swiss Family Robinson stories you know and love, as well as some amazing views of the Magic Kingdom you can’t find anywhere else!

1) Tom Sawyer Island:

Tom Sawyer Island is an exciting exploration for the whole family! Although it’s looked over by many, I definitely recommend adding this to your Disney to-do list. Walt Disney designed this ride back in 1956 when it first opened in Disneyland. It was so popular among the park guests, that it was added to Magic Kingdom when it opened in 1971. Guests take a floating raft ride over to the island from Frontierland, and then are free to wander around the Western, Mark Twain settings that the Disney Imagineers have brought to life.
