7 Disney World Experiences We Really Miss

As life in the real world changes, so does the Magic Kingdom. It’s fun to sit back and reflect on old memories that we have of our trips to Walt Disney World and see all of the changes that have occurred over the years in “Our Magic Kingdom”. My sister and I love to spot and point out new things in the park Sometimes we miss the major attractions that are long since gone and replaced by newer ones; sometimes it’s the small things that often get over looked that we miss as well. Here is a list of 7 Disney experiences that my family and I miss the most. I hope you read them and it sparks a fond memory that you have in your Disney memory bank as well.

7. Penny Arcade

Years ago there use to be an old fashion penny arcade on Main Street U.S.A. As a kid growing up, this was our last stop on our way out of the park. It was a very nostalgic place that took you back to simpler times. For a handful of change you could play some old fashion arcade games or watch a short movie in the moving picture machine. It was a great experience.

6. The Flower Kart

This was a small thing but I still miss it. There use to be a big flower kart that was located at the beginning of Main Street U.S.A. There were so many big bright flowers. It made a great photo shot.

5. The Skyway

These were cable cars that you could ride above the park to get a great view of the Magic Kingdom. The lines were usually long but it was worth the wait.

4. If You Had Wings

This ride was sponsored by Eastern Airlines in Tomorrow Land. Two people sat in a chair similar to the ones in the Haunted Mansion. The idea of this ride was to show you different places you could travel to all over the world by airplane. My favorite part was seeing a policeman directing traffic of a flock of flamingos and the take off experience of an airplane was a pretty cool feeling too.

3. 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea

20,000 Leagues was a simulated submarine ride that was located in Fantasyland where the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is now. This ride made you feel part of an underwater adventure. The rider saw lots of fish, mermaids , divers and a giant squid that tries to attack your vessel at the end of the ride.

2. Diamond Horseshoe Revue

Go back in time to the Old West. You could sit down at a table and order food or a soda and watch a live show full of comedians, singers and old west can can dancing girls. It was a great place to relax in the air condition when it was hot and watch a great show.

1. Character Experiences around the park

Years ago before the crowds were as big as they are today, you could find Donald Duck, Tigger, Pooh and other favorite Disney characters walking around the park available for autographs and quick photos. It was fun to see the little kids running up to them for an autograph or just seeing their faces when they spot a favorite character close by. They are all still there but in a much safer and controlled setting.
