9 Things Disney Pros Do First at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Castle

Rise and shine! There is an entire host of joyous and unforgettable memories awaiting you in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. To get the most out of your magical day, follow these 9 things real Disney Pros do first.

9. An Early Bird Surprise

Sadly, Mickey and gang no longer start your Disney morning with a Welcome Show at the Train Station. A lot of Disney goers have expressed their sadness that this is no longer a tradition. Instead guests are allowed into the park much earlier and have the opportunity to see a Welcome Show from the Castle stage. This new show is more of an official welcome by a host of Disney’s characters, Aladdin/Jasmine, Snow White, Chip N Dale, and of course, Mickey and Minnie Mouse!

8. Enjoying Main Street

Take the time to stroll up Main Street and enjoy the area before it gets truly busy! After the Welcome Show, take a moment to soak in the excitement of being in Disney World. Seeing “the Big Cheese” himself always brings back childlike giddiness! You’ve made it and now it’s time for some real fun!

7. Breakfast in the Crystal Palace

It is no secret that the Crystal Palace is one of the best breakfast locations in the Walt Disney World Resort. You will be treated to an all-you-can-eat buffet and while spending time with Pooh Bear and all of his friends from the Hundred-Acre-Wood. Due to its extreme popularity, it is strongly advised to make reservations in advance.

6. Fast Passes

Nab your FastPass as soon as possible, and be sure to shoot for popular rides like Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and the Jungle Cruise. Leave Space Mountain out of your FastPass selection. You’ll be able to hit that ride with minimal wait time as soon as you veer into Tomorrowland. Thanks to the My Disney Experience app, you can make fast pass selections at any point during the day.

5. Chillin’ with Villains

Gaston, Lady Tremaine, Drizella, and Anastasia have meet and greets limited to daytime, so be sure to catch them as soon as you can. You can find the “humbly” hulking Frenchman beside his tavern in New Fantasyland. Tremaine and her wicked daughters can be found behind Cinderella’s castle and around Prince Charming’s Carousel. Cindy sure is polite to let her enemies play in her backyard, be sure to seize the opportunity to meet them!

4. The Royal Majesty Makers

Cinderella’s royal ambassadors, Sir Stirling and Lady Llewellyn, stroll around Charming’s Carousel from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm. These regal, majesty makers delight in entertaining guests and teaching them the ways of the kingdom. You may even be selected to try your luck at pulling the legendary sword from the stone!

3. The Dapper Dans

Disney pros know that there is plenty of time for rides throughout the day. The trick is catching events available for limited times, like the Dapper Dans. This comically talented, barbershop quartet can be found delighting guests on Main Street. They are out and about from the park’s opening, and have their final performance at 1:50.

2. Meet Marie and Pluto

After listening to a brilliant performance from the Dans, be sure to catch Marie and Pluto at the center of Main Street. They will only be available until 2:10 so be sure to catch them in time.

1. Festival of Fantasy Parade

Disney pros have pinpointed a perfect place to watch the parade. Seat yourself at the very front of the park, dead center, underneath the train station archway. This spot will keep you shaded against that three o’clock sunshine and give you an amazing view of the parade.

With so much to see and do in the Magic Kingdom, these limited offers and amazing experiences are seldom forgotten. Take a Disney pro’s advice and catch all of these Magic Kingdom moments before venturing into the rest of the park.
