A Grown Up Guide To Epcot – 20 Things You Must Experience

Epcot Spaceship Earth

Epcot is a wonderful park for all ages, with plenty to offer for kids and adults alike. But more and more grown ups continue to take advantage of the more mature aspects of Epcot, either for a full getaway or simply a night “on the town”. Here are 20 things that adults should experience at Epcot:

20. Soarin’ – It’s kind of an Epcot mandate – you must do Soarin’. And with the brand new international adventure, who wouldn’t want to?

19. Restaurant Marrakesh – A grown up palate is necessary for the unique creations you’ll find in this Moroccan restaurant. My Disney foodie friend claims it’s one of her top picks in all of Walt Disney World.

18. Serveur Amusant – Be amazed by the grace and balance of this French street performer. Hold your breath as he reaches dangerous and unpredictable heights.

17. Voices of Liberty – The beautiful singing of the Voices of Liberty in the America pavilion is sometimes lost on children. Grown ups recognize the talent and appreciate the acoustics of this patriotic performance.

16. Kabuki Cafe – This Japanese kiosk serves what could possibly be labeled as “gourmet” shaved ice. Kids might balk at the sweet cream topping, but personally I’ve never tasted anything so delicious and refreshing.

15. Impressions de France – Whisk away to the French countryside—or at least imagine it—when you stop in for this film tribute.

14. Flower and Garden Festival – This celebration often plays second fiddle to the Food and Wine Fest, but the fresh, unique selections are just as good (in my opinion, better). Spring is a fine time for a grown up getaway, wouldn’t you say?

13. Biergarten Restaurant – Kids might be scared off of this German buffet after hearing words like Schnitzel, Sauerbraten, and Rouladen, but adults would be hard pressed to find a livelier venue or a heartier spread. And if you’re a beer drinker, this is your version of heaven on earth.

12. Test Track – Don’t skip Test Track just because you’re sans-kiddos. There’s a height limit on this thrill ride for a reason, after all. Plus, you know you’ve secretly always wanted to design that car without kid “helpers”.

11. House of the Whispering Willows – Dream about a trip to Disney’s newest location, Shanghai Disney Resort, after a sneak peek in the China pavilion.

10. Ellen’s Energy Adventure – This attraction is appropriate for all ages, but it tends to be too long for little ones. Sit back, relax, and maybe learn a thing or two about energy.

9. The Legacy Stones – If you’re with your family, usually you pass right by the tribute stones at the entrance. But it’s pretty fascinating to look at all those tiny faces and think about the many people that have left a mark in that place.

8. O Canada! – Way at the back of the Canada pavilion, down a mountainy trail, you’ll find a theater in the round with an interesting video about our northern neighbors. You won’t want to miss it, or the lovely cliffside path that follows.

7. Dolphin Show – If you can time it right, be sure to take in the intelligence of these underwater mammals at The Seas. ALL ages are awed by these beautiful creatures!

6. Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar – Over 200 bottles of Italian wines are offered in this earthy, authentic lounge. What a great grown-up place to unwind and enjoy the ambiance! A small menu of tapas, pastas, paninis, and desserts is also available.

5. British Revolution – Grab a beer in the UK pavilion and listen to the nostalgic sounds of this British rock band (Beatles tunes regularly featured).

4. Mariachi Cobre – Or grab a margarita in the Mexico pavilion and listen to the lively sounds of this street mariachi band (a true fiesta).

3. Moroccan Art Gallery – Immerse yourself in the Moroccan culture by lingering over exquisite art pieces that younger patrons may fail to appreciate.

2. Food and Wine Festival – The Food and Wine Festival is always popular with the adult crowd. If you’ve never experienced it, put this festival on your Disney bucket list. Where else can you sample delicacies and drinks from around the globe all in one night?

1. IllumiNations – No Epcot trip is complete without a viewing of the nightly fireworks and laser spectacular. Maybe a grown up trip is a perfect time to enjoy the IllumiNations Dessert Party? Or at least grab some crepes and a cocktail.

Enjoy Epcot, you big kids at heart!
