Enjoy Great Mexican Food Inside a Huge Mesoamerican Pyramid – Yeah… Seriously!

Dine in perpetual twilight at the base of Mayan ruins in a 17th century hacienda.   if you are looking to beat the heat at Epcot, eat a big breakfast and make a reservation at San Angel Inn Restaurant around 3-4:00. The atmosphere is cool and calm, even though you can see a volcano smoldering in the distance. The darkened atmosphere with oil lamps atop each table makes your dining experience a welcome siesta from the Florida sun. San Angel is nothing like the greasy spoon Mexican food at your neighborhood strip mall, far from it – you’ll enjoy deliciously prepared and presented dishes that are fresh and satisfying.

Recommendations: We recommend ordering an appetizer of Tlacoyos de Chilorio – corn cakes topped with black refried beans, pork chilorio, queso fresco, sour cream, and green tomatillo sauce.  We also recommend the Pescado a la Veracruzana – catch of the day prepared with capers, olives, bell peppers, spanish onions and tomatoes, seasoned with white wine, and spices, served over poblano rice. Lunch and dinner entrees range from $23 a $28 a plate and some Disney Dining Plans are accepted.

Our only complaints are regarding table size and placement. our table for two was very small once you add an oil lamp, 2 entrees, chips, salsa, and drinks.  Also we felt as if we were right on top of our neighbors. Regardless, we were pleased with our experience at San Angel Restaurant and recommend this hearty taste of Mexican flavor. Buenos Dias!
