What do driving a Lamborghini, award-winning cuisine, and a pub crawl all have in common? You may be surprised that they are all things you can do at the Walt Disney World resort. Check out this list of 11 adult-oriented activities that Walt Disney World has to offer.

1. Fishing

Disney offers both guided fishing tours and dockside fishing at multiple locations around the resort. The guided tours include all of the equipment you need for bass fishing, and an experienced tour guide to help you during the trip. There is dockside fishing with casting-rods at Fort Wilderness and cane-pole fishing at Port Orleans-Riverside. No matter what type of fishing you do, don’t expect to dine on your catch. All fishing is catch-and-release.

2. Richard Petty Driving Experience

Do people ever accuse you of driving like you’re trying to qualify at Talladega? If so, this might be the Disney experience for you! Get behind the wheel of a NASCAR or ride along with an experienced driver. You can even reserve the “Exotic Driving Experience” and drive a Porsche, Lamborghini, or Ferrari.

3. Spa Treatments

There are three spa locations in Walt Disney World. They are the Senses Spa at the Grand Floridian, Senses Spa at Saratoga Springs, and the Mandara Spa at the Dolphin. They offer a range of services including facials, wraps, massages, manicures and pedicures. Disney spas are tranquil, serene places for some grown-up relaxation. Check out our article on Ladies – 4 Ways to Pamper Yourself at Disney World for more information on spa and salon treatments.

4. Golfing

There are three golf courses on the grounds of the Grand Floridian resort and one adjacent to Saratoga Springs. With the exception of Oak Trail, all courses are 18 holes. The Lake Buena Vista course has hosted the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour and USGA events. Need to brush up your swing? There are putting greens, driving ranges, and lessons available. Reserve your tee time online or at (407) WDW-GOLF.407) WDW-GOLF

5. Horseback Riding

The Tri-Circle-D Ranch, located at the Campsites at Fort Wilderness, offers horseback trail rides. You can see a wide variety of “Cinderella’s Ponies” at the ranch, including Clydesdales, Appaloosas and Belgians. If riding the horse isn’t quite your speed, there are also horse-drawn carriage rides and even sleigh rides during the month of December.

6. Fine Dining

Victoria & Albert’s, located at The Grand Floridian, offers the “finest” dining Disney has to offer. The menu changes daily and is presented as a seven to ten course Prix Fixe. The restaurant has won many awards and offers a selection of rare and vintage wines.

7. Boating

Boats of all shapes and sizes can be rented in Walt Disney World. Canoes and kayaks are available at the Campsites at Fort Wilderness. Motorized boat rentals are available for groups of up to 10 people at many resorts with waterway access. Is sailing more your style? No problem! You can rent a catamaran at the Polynesian.

8. Water Sports

Sammy Duvall’s Watersports Centre, located at the Contemporary, has every kind of water sport imaginable! You can parasail, waterski, wake board, go tubing, or rent a personal watercraft. Typhoon Lagoon offers surfing in their wave pool before and after regular park hours. They can even program the waves to break in the direction of your choice!

9. Scuba Diving

If you are SCUBA-certified, Disney offers the opportunity to dive in the saltwater aquarium at Epcot. All diving equipment is provided, and divers will spend about 40 minutes in the water. With no currents, no bad weather, and no cloudy water to contend with, this SCUBA experience is guaranteed to result in lots of contact with undersea life and many fabulous photos from your underwater camera.

10. Special Tours

While Disney offers many family-friendly tours, there are a few that are restricted to guests age 16 and older. The Backstage Magic tour, a seven hour tour of areas in all four theme parks as well as Central Shops and the Disney Tree Farm, certainly caters to grown-up guests. Other tours with 16+ age restrictions include Keys to the Kingdom, Backstage Safari, and Holiday D-Lights (available during the Christmas season only).

11. Adult Beverages

One very popular “adults-only” Disney activity involves sampling the many delicious libations available at resort hotels and at the countries at the World Showcase in Epcot. Resorts connected to the Magic Kingdom by Monorail have become the location of what is known as the “Monorail Crawl”. The Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian, the Wave Bar at the Contemporary, and Mizner’s Lounge at the Grand Floridian are popular stops on the crawl. “Drinking Around the World” at the World Showcase involves sampling traditional alcoholic beverages from each of the 11 countries. Just be sure to use good judgment and pace yourself, lest you end up the subject of another list on our website (see Tourists Behaving Badly – 8 Things That Can Get You Kicked Out of Disney Parks).

Are you touring Disney with your children but still wish to partake in some “grown-up” fun? Disney has that covered, too. There are five Children’s Activity Centers for kids aged 3-12 located around Walt Disney World. They charge an hourly rate for supervised activities and the rate includes dinner. These centers are only open in the evening.
