Our Top 10 Favorite Things at EPCOT

Awesome attractions and engaging international pavilions, Epcot is a favorite of many Disney regulars. Epcot has 2 areas: Future World and World Showcase.  Before we give you our top 10 list, it’s helpful to note that you probably won’t get to see everything Epcot has to offer in one visit… but we can highlight the most popular attractions and eateries so that you leave the park feeling that you’ve gotten your money’s worth!

#10 – Crush’s Turtle Talk – Your kids will be treated to an interactive adventure hosted by Crush, the super cool turtle with a laid back attitude from Finding Nemo. With the help of a moderator Crush engages the audience in a dialog. He actually interacted with my son and asked him a question, then asked who his parents were and we raised our hands. Kids can sit on the floor with adults on benches behind.

#9 – Visit Characters – Epcot has a dizzying array of Disney characters available for magical meet and greets. Chip and Dale, Disney Princesses, Mickey and Minnie… grab a Times Guide at the entrance to the park and discover where and when these lovable characters are available.

#8 – Spaceship Earth – Inside the giant geodesic dome at the front of the park is a ride that takes guests on a journey though human technological evolution and gives guests a glimpse into what may be coming in the future. This 15 minute interactive ride will ask you to design your own future by using an computer touch screen located in your two person “Omnimover” car

#7 – Dine with a Princess at Askerhaus in Norway – If you have a little princess in your family, don’t pass up an opportunity to dine with Disney leading-ladies including Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Princess Aurora, Ariel and Mary Poppins. The Askerhaus Princesss breakfast is a good backup in case you are not able to reserve a Princess character breakfast in Magic Kingdom.

#6 – The Seas with Nemo & Friends – Take a ride incorporating real fish in a giant tank with characters from Finding Nemo. After ride wander through the variety of marine exhibits at the pavilion. Sharks, dolphins, sea turtles, manatees, fish, sea horses, star fish, jelly fish… it’s a wonder to explore!

#5 – IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth – We think it is worth the wait to stay later into the evening to see this amazing show. IllumiNations is a multi sensory experience that combines lasers, fireworks, lights, fire, music, water and movies into a stuning 3 act narative about life on the planet. IllumiNations is a true spectacle to behold.

#4 – The World Showcase – Enjoy the culture and cuisine of 11 countries: Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, the United States, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom and Canada.  Don’t sit down for a big meal at lunchtime… just walk from country to country sampling the cuisine.  Grab a croissant in France, some nachos and a margarita in Mexico, baklava in Morocco.  Each country has art galleries, gorgeous architecture, stores, and exhibits to explore

#3 – Mission: SPACE – Climb aboard this centrifugal motion space flight simulator thrill ride where you’ll get a taste of what an astronaut might experience aboard a spacecraft on a mission to Mars.  Choose wisely between the two intensity levels of the ride. There is Orange Team for a more lifelike and intense experience and Green Team for less intense but still a total thrill!

#2 – Test Track – Sponsored by Chevrolet and completely overhauled in 2012 Test Track will show you what it is like to test cars before they can hit the road. After your team designs a “Sim-Car” you will put your car design through 4 main tests: capability, efficiency, responsiveness, and power. This is a total thrill ride and will be a hit amongst the guys in your group both young and old.

#1 – Soarin’ – “I believe I can Fly!”  That’s what you’ll be thinking when you go on this popular ride.  You’ll soar above California on a hang glider and may even feel the need to lift up your feet a time or two thinking you’ll run into something below you!  It’s AWESOME!    You’ll definitely want to FastPass this ride because the line gets super long.  Your kids will enjoy this as well but it can be a little scary is they’re afraid of heights.  Riders must be 40″ or taller.
