Top 10 Attractions along Main Street U.S.A You Should Not Miss

Main Street USA

Modeled to reflect the American golden age in Walt’s favorite childhood town of Marceline Missouri, Main Street U.S.A. marks the entrance to the happiest place on earth. In fact, Main Street has plenty of hidden gems of its own to keep guests entertained during their visit. This countdown gives guests a few must see attractions to enjoy on Main Street U.S.A in The Magic Kingdom.

10. A Ride on Magic Kingdom Railroad

I love the classic Disney charm of the Magic Kingdom Railroad. Located directly above the gates to Main Street U.S.A. is the Main Street train platform. Hop on the train for a full circle tour of the park with stops in Frontierland and Fantasyland before returning to Main Street Station. Walt Disney’s interest in trains was the inspiration for this attraction; every time I ride it I cant help but think about the man that created this wonderful park.

9. Confectionary Treats

The smells of the Main Street Confectionary are irresistible as you enter the park. You do not want to miss browsing the Confectionary and buying a treat or two. Cake pops, cookies and dipped apples are my favorite items to buy at the Confectionary.

8. Meeting Mickey at Town Square Theatre

What would a day in The Magic Kingdom be without meeting Mickey Mouse himself? Lucky for you, you can meet Mickey all day at Town Square Theatre on Main Street U.S.A. You can even snag a fast pass for this character meet to reduce your wait time.

7. Greeting the Mayor

The mayor of Main Street U.S.A. is just as adorable as you would imagine. Decked out in early twentieth century dapper suit complete with a mayor banner, the mayor greets guests with handshakes and photos. If you can catch the mayor out on Main Street, take advantage of the opportunity to meet him.

6. Shopping at Emporium

Short of World of Disney at Disney Springs, I believe Emporium is one of the most impressive shops of Disney souvenirs on the property. This huge store spans every shop storefront on the left side of the street when walking toward the castle. Clothes, homewares, gourmet items, toys, plush, jewelry and more is available for purchase. You do not want to miss the Main Street classic.

5. Hand Dipped Ice Cream

If you love old-fashioned hand dipped ice cream, you are in luck. The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor that scoops up Edy’s ice cream is the last shop on your right when walking toward the castle. Order a delicious cone to enjoy while you wander the park, or grab a seat to relax a while and share a kitchen sink sundae with your travel group. Tons of park visitors line up for delicious ice cream at this restaurant, so seeing lines outside the door is not unusual. No worries, cast members do an incredible job of keeping the line moving quickly and efficiently so hop in line to buy a sweet treat.

4. Listing to the Barber Shop Quartet

Nothing is more classic America than the crooning of a barbershop quartet. The Dapper Dan’s performing group serenade guests on Main Street U.S.A. along the streets and of course outside the barbershop. These guys are seriously talented, so make time to hear them on one of your trips down Main Street U.S.A.

3. Magic Kingdom Philharmonic Marching Band

The Philharmonic Marching Band that performs on Main Street U.S.A. is super fun to watch. This talented group of professional musicians put a band spin on classic Disney songs. We like to snag an ice cream cone and stop to enjoy their whole music set in front of the castle.

2. Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom

Technically this attraction takes you all around the Magic Kingdom. However, the fun begins right on Mains Street U.S.A. This interactive experience lets kids (and their parents) explore the park as they embark on a fun scavenger hunt with Merlin the wizard in order to defeat evil. Scavenger hunts range in difficultly level, but generally takes around half an hour to finish. Sign up for Sorcerers of The Magic Kingdom at the Firehouse on Main Street U.S.A

1. A Castle Photo with a Photopass Photographer

Castle photos on Main Street U.S.A. are as classic as the park itself. Do not miss the opportunity to take a photo on Main Street with the majestic Cinderella Castle background. Better yet, enlist a photo pass photographer to photograph the entire family together. My family always stops for morning and evening photos on Main Street. After all, you can never have too many castle photos.
