Top 10 Favorite Places to Dine at Animal Kingdom

Yak and Yeti

Dining at Animal Kingdom has always been adventurous as it showcases the flavors and spices of the faraway lands of Asia and Africa. There are many places to choose from when dining at Animal Kingdom, as well as many different ways to dine, too. Here is our list of our top ten favorite places to dine at Animal Kingdom!

10 – Nomad Lounge – the Nomad Lounge is the indoor/outdoor bar area located next to Tiffins. We have had the chance to sample some of the delicious snacks available here, as well as a variety of the mixed drinks and beers on the menu. We love this location because you are able to sit outside and overlook the Discovery River and look towards the entrance to the yet-to-be-opened Pandora: World of AVATAR are of the park. Once it opens, the Nomad Lounge is going to be a hard ticket to get!

9 – Restaurantsaurus – located in DinoLand, this restaurant is a great choice if you aren’t looking to be adventurous with your dining. Guests can choose from a variety of traditional theme park fare – burgers, chicken fingers, etc. We also enjoy going here because you are able to get off your feet and sit down at tables and also you get to cool off with some air-conditioning!

8 – Rainforest Café – located at the entrance of the park, Rainforest Café is almost hidden from view, but the offer a variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests choosing to dine here will be pleased to know that if your plans take you back into the park, there is a second entrance/exit so you won’t have to leave and walk through the turnstiles again!

7 – Harambe Fruit Market – those looking to have a simple, healthy snack will enjoy heading to this location directly in front of the queue for Kilimanjaro Safaris. They have a variety of different fruits for guests to choose from, but if you are looking for a more classic snack, guests can find a variety of Mickey pretzels at this location, including the elusive jalapeño and cheese combination!

6 – Tamu Tamu Refreshments – this counter-service option is located on the corner in Harmabe Village – the menu here is constantly changing, so guests can be sure to have a unique experience whenever they choose to dine here – on a recent trip, we were able to find the ever popular Dole Whip with rum!

5 – Yak and Yeti – located in the center of the park, Yak and Yeti is a great restaurant offering an amazing assortment of Asian-inspired dishes. The restaurant is extremely popular, so be sure to make an advanced dining reservation, but also try to arrive a little early for your meal so you can try and grab a drink and the very small bar located inside. Sadly, Yak and Yeti does not participate in the Tables in Wonderland program, but the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable, so you’ll be sure to leave with a full stomach and wallet!

4 – Trilo-Bites – we love this small little food stand located at the entrance to DinoLand. Trill-Bites is one of the test kitchens for the park, so the menu is changing here all the time and it usually only has one or two options for guests, but we have seen buffalo chicken waffle sandwiches here that were amazing. Be sure to swing by to see what they have for a snack – it is also conveniently located near the standby entrance to the Rivers of Light viewing area, so you can always grab something before you get in line!

3 – Yak and Yeti Local Foods Café – located next to Yak and Yeti, this restaurant is a counter-service version offering a limited menu for guests on the go. On recent trips, we’ve grabbed a whole bunch of meals and snacks from this location because of the convenience. It is also located right where the live entertainment takes place in Asia, so guests can watch and even take part in the entertainment here. Guests may want to try this restaurant after a refreshing ride on Kali River Rapids!

2 – Flame Tree BBQ – located in the Discovery Island area, Flame Tree BBQ offers AMAZING food. No doubt you’ve smelled the delicious aromas wafting through this area of the park – be sure to stop by here on your trip – guests have their choice of barbecue chicken and ribs, as well as other delicious sides! Even though you have to stand in line for the food, this restaurant is extremely popular!
