Top 10 Places To Get Your Chocolate Fix At Disney World

Disney Chocolate Fix
Disney Chocolate Fix

Sometimes I dream I’m floating in a sea of chocolate in a raft made out of chocolate while eating a piece of chocolate. Just me? This isn’t news to people who know me—I have a strong love that runs quite deep for the delectable treat made from the cacao bean. Princess Anna and I would get along real well because she wants to stuff chocolate in her face and I, well, also want to stuff chocolate in my face. Whether white, milk or dark, lightly sweetened or richly indulgent, I am loyal and impartial. That being said, I am also a seeker of chocolate, meaning I have to know exactly where I can get my chocolate fix should that sudden urge overcome me. Planning a trip to Walt Disney World is no exception and for all those chocoholics out there who are like me, I’ve compiled a list of the top places on Disney property where you can go and grab a richly satisfying chocolate fix.

10. Goofy’s Candy Company (Downtown Disney)

If you are anything like Ms. Poppins and enjoy the occasional spoonful of sugar, then you MUST run, not walk, to Goofy’s Candy Company in Downtown Disney. Colorful sweet treats are everywhere your eyes roam, and if you are looking to specifically satisfy a chocolate craving, look no further. In the display cases you will find treats like chocolate cupcakes and cake pops, cookies, fudge and chocolate candy squares. If that just doesn’t get your chocolate bell a’ringin, then head over to the create-your-own treat station and grab a green order form, choosing from a million (okay, not a MILLION…but pretty close) different amazingly sweet options. Want an example? How about a caramel apple dipped in milk chocolate, then rolled in chocolate morsels or M&Ms and finished with a dark or white chocolate drizzle? You certainly can order that and I certainly wouldn’t judge you.

9. Starring Rolls Café (Disney’s Hollywood Studios)

Located in the heart of Hollywood Studios, this is a cute counter service eatery where you can stand and gawk at the many drool-worthy offerings beckoning you from inside their display cases. Sure they offer things like sandwiches and bagels if you are into that kind of thing, but for my likeminded friends who really just want to sink our teeth into some chocolaty goodness ASAP, then I have a treat for you! Chocolate is everywhere you turn and you might just find yourself struggling to choose between all those scrumptious looking sweets. My advice? Close your eyes and pick between the chocolate croissant, chocolate peanut butter cupcake or their FAMOUS chocolate Butterfinger cupcake.

8. Big Top Treats (Magic Kingdom)

This place can be quite dangerous for the sweet tooth aficionado. The sweet smells will pull you inside and then before you know it you are ordering one of everything in the display case (just me again?). Featuring a wide assortment of delicious goodies, you will certainly be able to satisfy your chocolate craving inside this giant circus tent. They like to dip things in chocolate here—marshmallows, pretzel rods, fruit kabobs, etc. Aside from that, you can also purchase various chocolate flavored fudge, chocolate chip cookies, and brownies. My favorite chocolate treat would have to be the chocolate Dumbo cupcake which pays sweet homage to our favorite flying pachyderm!

7. Karamell Kuche (Epcot’s Germany Pavilion)

While this place is known for their deliciously mouthwatering caramel, you will be able to enjoy fantastic chocolate right alongside it (or even with it!). I cannot recommend this place enough—it is a must-visit for your next Disney World vacation! The smells alone are hypnotic and with just one taste of their many delectable offerings you will be convinced that there is no better place to indulge your sweet tooth. Chocolate and caramel go together like peanut butter and jelly, a combination that will have your taste buds singing! Choose between selections like chocolate covered sea salt caramels, chocolate caramel cupcakes, double chocolate caramel cookies, and chocolate caramel brownies (just to name a few) to get your chocolate fix!

6. Boardwalk Bakery (Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and Villas)

The next time you find yourself strolling along the scenic Boardwalk, pop inside the bakery and spoil your sweet tooth with chocolate galore! They offer a little bit of everything here, not to mention intensely delicious chocolaty treats. You’ll find goodies like their Chocolate Cappuccino Cupcake, Oreo Bon Bon Cupcake, Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar Cake, Chocolate Ganache Mickey Tart, and Mickey Oreo Heads!

5. Main Street Bakery (Magic Kingdom)

Yeah, I know you are headed with sheer determination to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride, but if the sweet smell wafting from the Main Street Bakery doesn’t stop you dead in your tracks and lure you inside, you are a better person than I! The chocolate cake here will be some of the best you’ve ever had! This destination is a fully-functioning Starbucks so there will be delicious chocolate-flavored beverages to try, but there are also bakery goodies exclusive to the Magic Kingdom available from the afternoon on. Some of their amazing chocolate offerings include the famous Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cupcake, freshly-baked chocolate chunk cookies, chocolate muffins and double chocolate brownies.

4. Sunshine Seasons (Epcot’s The Land Pavilion)

This gem of an eatery is located inside the Land Pavilion right near Epcot’s very popular Soarin’ ride and features a huge variety of yummy eats. The serious sweet tooth and chocolate lover will certainly jump for joy at the many chocolate selections including whoopie pies, chocolate mousse cake, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate croissants and the Cocoa Boom Bar.

3. Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie (Epcot’s France Pavilion)

If you enjoy spoiling your sweet tooth you will have far too much fun selecting from the endless options at this amazing quick service food spot. The pièce de résistance is the bakery, all the sweet treats so gorgeously sculpted you will be in awe of their beauty. The Patisserie is known for their amazing Napoleons and chocolate croissants—so authentically divine that you might just be saying “oui” to every sweet goodie in the glass display cases. Other chocolate treats include chocolate mousse, éclairs filled with chocolate cream, double chocolate macaroons, chocolate cake and hot chocolate. Ooh la la!

2. Hollywood and Vine (Disney’s Hollywood Studios)

If you haven’t already noticed I’ve tried staying away from full-service dining selections in this top 10 list, opting for the quick grab-and-go eateries that’ll get you chocolate in the fastest way possible! I am, however, going to have to break the rules and include Hollywood and Vine simply because they have added a supremely masterful way to satisfy your chocolate craving. Just late last year they brought in a giant chocolate fountain of flowing, creamy chocolaty goodness. Watch as chefs will dip for you an endless assortment of fruit, cookies, marshmallows, and other sweet treats. If that doesn’t make you do a happy chocolate dance, there’s just no hope for you.

1. Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop (Downtown Disney)

One look that their antique chocolate making machines will confirm that Ghirardelli knows exactly how to create amazing chocolate treats. Here, you will find everything from sundaes with oozing chocolate fudge to a seemingly endless variety of individually wrapped chocolate squares. Be prepared to wait in line—their fantastic chocolate offerings (sundaes, milkshakes, coffee, etc.) are some of the most popular on Disney property (and well worth the wait, trust me!).

Don’t forget—in practically every souvenir shop on Disney property (theme parks and Disney resorts) you can purchase Disney themed chocolate treats like chocolate coins and candy bars with our favorite characters featured on the wrappers! What are you waiting for?! Go get your chocolate fix now!
