Dining at resorts can be a great way to explore places that you’ve never been before or to check out new experiences. The dining at Walt Disney World resorts can be a great place to dine and between all of the resorts there are many unique dining experiences. Here are our top ten unique dining experiences at the Disney World resorts!

10 – Sanaa (Animal Kingdom Lodge) – guests wanting to try something new should check out Sanaa where guests can have an amazing bread service with a variety of sauces to sample on the delicious bread. Guests will also love dining here because they will be able to view animals on the savanna.

9 – Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue (Fort Wilderness Campgrounds) – located in Pioneer Hall, this dinner show serves guests an amazing amount of all-you-care-to-eat food featuring ribs, chicken, beans, and cornbread. Be sure to save room for an amazing strawberry shortcake dessert. This experience is truly unique because guests are treated to a fantastic Western-themed dinner show with clapping, singing, and yee-hawing!

8 – Spirit of Aloha Dinner (Polynesian Village Resort) – guests who wish to sample a little of the island culture should check out this all-you-care-to-eat dinner show similar to the Hoop Dee Doo. The dinner takes place on the beaches of the Polynesian Village Resort and guests can sample a variety of drinks while enjoying a wonderful show with dancers and fire!

7 – Mickey’s Backyard BBQ (Fort Wilderness Campgrounds) – guests who want a relaxed dining experience should check this experience out. Guests can have burgers, hot dogs, ribs, and chicken, as well as delectable sides. Entertainment is provided at this show with a live country-western band so guests can dance, as well as meet some of their favorite characters – Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, and Chip & Dale!

6 – Beaches and Cream (Beach Club Resort) – this small soda shop is a truly unique experience for fans of classic diner food. The menu features a variety of burgers and sandwiches, but the real treat is what guests can have for dessert. Our personal favorite is the Kitchen Sink – be sure to have a HUGE appetite or some extra people to help eat all of the ice cream and toppings!

5 – Boma (Animal Kingdom Lodge) – we love this buffet because it features classic Disney favorites, but also allows guests to expand their palettes and sample food indigenous to Africa. We also love the location in Animal Kingdom Lodge –you pass by wonderful views in the resort, as well as are able to look out onto the savannah to see some of your favorite animals!

4 – Ohana (Polynesian Village Resort) – Ohana means family and all meals are served family-style and guests can request items they specifically want. We have eaten there for breakfast and dinner and highly recommend the dinner, especially if you can snag a reservation later in the evening so you can see Wishes from your table. Guests who go for breakfast can also dine with Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch!

3 – California Grill (Contemporary Resort) – another restaurant offering views of Wishes at night, the California Grill offers guests some amazing sushi on top of the Contemporary. Reservations can be tough, so make sure to make yours at your 180-day reservation window!

2 – 1900 Park Fare (Grand Floridian Resort) – while this buffet serves classic American dishes, we love this unique dining experience because of the variety of characters that will meet and greet you during your meal. One a recent trip for breakfast (where we were able to put gummy bears on our waffles), we were met by Mary Poppins, Alice, and the Mad Hatter. The line-up does change based on meal, so be sure to research to see who visits guests at each meal.

1 – Victoria and Albert’s (Grand Floridian Resort) – this 5-diamond rated restaurant is a great choice for couples celebrating an anniversary. The restaurant offers amazing packages featuring multiple courses and even the opportunity to watch your meal be prepared and to speak with your chef!

While the parks can be fun, Disney is limited with the unique options they can offer in the parks, venturing outside of the parks to resorts, guests can have wider variety of food and diversity of experiences. Have you tried any of these? What is your favorite unique dining experience?
