Top 5 Magic Kingdom Restaurants

Columbia Harbor House

Like the barrage of rides and attractions at the Magic Kingdom, the dining options are vast and varied. Choosing a place to satisfy your appetite can be overwhelming and have you wandering around like Oaken (I couldn’t resist!), uncertain of which direction to go to receive the best overall dining experience. We here at Disney Fanatic agree that all of the dining options at Magic Kingdom are pretty swell in their own right, but if we had to narrow it down to just five we’d have to include these consistently fantastic favorites!

5. The Crystal Palace

The all-you-can-eat establishment which provides stellar views of Cinderella’s Castle from their soaring windows fills hungry bellies during breakfast, lunch and dinner. The best part? You get to mingle with those cuddly Hundred Acre Wood friends while you dine. There is always a little something for everyone when it comes to buffets and here you’ll find options like made-to-order omelets, hearty potato casseroles and Mickey waffles (no trip to Disney is complete without these!) for breakfast and a unique array of salads and carved-meats, among other yummy foods, for lunch and dinner. The Victorian-feel of the restaurant, designed with bright white latticework, makes for a pleasant setting. Kids and adults alike won’t be able to resist parading around the restaurant with Pooh and his friends during the “Friendship March.” If you want a great tip, book an advanced dining reservation for an early breakfast before the Magic Kingdom opens to get the most out of your park-day AND for a coveted chance to snap photos of the rarely empty Main Street, USA.

4. Columbia Harbor House

Ahoy! If you feel like reeling in incredibly delicious food then you’ll definitely want to visit this counter-service dining spot located inside Frontierland. The cozy two-story restaurant exhibits an American colonial seafaring flair in both their food offerings and design. Items like lobster rolls, New England clam chowder and tuna sandwiches as well as their fried shrimp and fish platters make this a great place to fill up during lunch and dinner. The real gem of this place is the commonly empty upstairs dining room, which for an often crowded theme park is a nice break away from the crowds and usually warm climate. This rich, wood-paneled and highly nautical interior will make you feel as if you’re dining inside the cabin of a ship and offers great views of Frontierland from the quaint windows. Next time you visit the Magic Kingdom, set your compass to the Colombia Harbor House. Grab your dish and “dive” in, you will be one happy sailor!

3. Be Our Guest Restaurant

Located in Fantasyland, you can dine inside the Beast’s castle for a quick-service lunch or table-service dinner at this highly popular restaurant. Both menus offer a French-inspired cuisine and have you seated within one of three fantastically ornate rooms—the Rose Gallery, the West Wing, or the Ballroom—designed with such care and attention to the classic film that you might expect the dinnerware to break into song at any time. The lunch offers a more casual setting and will allow you to choose from options like French onion soup and carved beef sandwiches. The dinner promotes a more intimate and formal (though not overly-so) feel as the lights are significantly dimmer and the dishes include items like herb-crusted lamb rack and pan-seared salmon. Don’t forget to try the grey stuff. It’s delicious! Don’t believe me? Ask…anyone who’s ever ordered it off their dessert menu!

2. Cinderella’s Royal Table

It’s not every day that you get to rub elbows with one of Disney’s most popular princesses while you dine. And, furthermore, it’s not every day that you get to dine inside her Majesty’s castle. In this one-of-a-kind fairytale setting, patrons are able to choose from a variety of flavorful meals for breakfast, lunch or dinner. If the Lobster and Crab Crepes or the Caramel Apple French Toast breakfast offerings don’t have you putting the advanced dining reservations number on speed dial, then perhaps the Slow-Roasted Pork Tenderloin or Seasonal Gnocchi with Roasted Vegetables for lunch or dinner just might. From the moment you step inside you are treated like royalty so it is no wonder that this highly-sought-after dining location is so hard to book. From complementary photos with Cinderella and magic wands to other princess character appearances, you will certainly feel the magic this place exudes.

1. Liberty Tree Tavern

From the moment you enter Magic Kingdom you are instantly removed from the real world and transported to a magical land. This mystical transformation happens yet again the minute you step inside the Liberty Tree Tavern, an 18th century American colonial restaurant located inside Frontierland. The wooden planked floors creek beneath your feet as you walk passed multi-level rooms, each individually themed with a historical figure from United States history. This wonderful restaurant has a warm and cozy feel, offering comfort foods for lunch and a fantastic family-style Thanksgiving feast for dinner. Everything they serve from the rolls before your meal to dishes like their amazing pot roast and creamy mac and cheese is certain to make a lasting impression. I’ve never ordered a meal I haven’t fully enjoyed here as all of these patriotic plates are pleasers. The servers, costumed in charming early-pioneer attire, are joyful and attentive. Don’t forget to save room for the delectable desserts, like their popular Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake or Johnny Appleseed’s Cake. You won’t regret this “revolutionary” dining experience!
