When Money Is No Object – 10 Things To Splurge On At Epcot

Spaceship Earth

While there are certainly ways to pinch pennies and save money at Walt Disney World; splurging on the luxuries can make a vacation even more magical. Epcot is my favorite park because of the cultural details of each country in World Showcase and the delicious food and drink available. Here is my list of the top ten items you should splurge on during your day at Epcot.

10. Take the Behind the Seeds Tour in The Land

The Behind the Seeds tour allows guests to get a glimpse of what makes the Living with the Land ride really tick. An expert tour guide takes the tour group through the ride several times a day to explain the research and innovative growing methods being tested at Walt Disney World. At around fifteen dollars per person the tour is a really interesting way to spend an afternoon in the park learning and enjoying hands on activities.

9. Purchase silhouette art in France

The gorgeous silhouette art in France is a great way to spend souvenir money. Getting a couple or family silhouette done is possible and this keepsake is something you will treasure while also serving as a reminder of your fantastic Disney vacation. My mother made Walt Disney World silhouette art a tradition when she began taking my sister and I to purchase them every few years on our Disney vacations. Looking back at our changing silhouettes as we grew is so special now that we are adults.

8. Visit Twinning’s Tea shop in the United Kingdom

Any tea drinker will be right at home in Twining’s shop in the United Kingdom in World Showcase. You can purchase a wide variety of flavors and sizes of tea bags and loose-leaf tea in this quaint little shop. The beautiful English China teacups and pots are among my favorite items as well. The shopping in Epcot is superb. I love buying unique items for friends at all the shops around World Showcase.

7. Enjoy Fish and Chips at Yorkshire County Fish Shop

I am a true believer that the best fish and chips you can find outside England may very well be in Epcot. The Yorkshire County Fish & Chips cart is a delicious way to sample a signature English dish while on the go. With a hearty splash of vinegar on the side the snack is so hard to beat!

6. Sip an Oasis Mimosa in Morocco and Buy Candy in Each Country

Purchasing cheap individually wrapped candy at each of the countries around World Showcase is a neat way to sample a little of each culture that is represented. Bringing home candy for family and friends is a neat way to share the magic of Epcot. My all time favorite drink in Epcot is Morocco’s Oasis Mimosa. This light and refreshing drink is unique and delicious.

5. Caramel Corn at Werther’s in Germany with German Beer

What would a trip to Germany be without an authentic German beer? A glance around World Showcase will reveal a ton of people enjoying the German beer sold in the German pavilion. Werther’s Caramel Shop is a relatively new addition to the pavilion and is a delicious stop for warm caramel corn, caramel apples and delicious homemade sea salt caramels. Deciding what to purchase at Werther’s is always my biggest problem. When in doubt I just buy one of each!

4. Nachos and a margarita in Mexico

Nachos are such a common food, for years I did not think they were worth eating at Epcot. I was so wrong. La Cantina de San Angel has fresh and delicious loaded nachos at a great price. Their nachos dishes are hearty and perfect for sharing. No trip to Mexico is complete without a visit to their signature margarita stand. The stand directly across from La Cantina de San Angel has delicious flavored and original margaritas frozen or on the rocks.

3. Pastries and gelato in France

Boulangerie Patisserie is a staple in the French pavilion at Epcot. This Disney favorite relocated and expanded around 2011 to expand seating and increase the number of guests that can be served in each line. The gelato shop in France is another delicious option for treats as is the delicious crepe stand near neat Chefs de France. When visiting Epcot ensure you have ample time to sample the sweets in France.

2. A wine, tequila or sake flight

Epcot offers delicious drinks in every country around world showcase. For those interested in sampling an array of drinks native to the countries in Epcot, wine or beer flights might be the best way to spend your time and money. The flight allows guests to sample 3 or 4 drinks with just the right amount of each to enjoy and explore. Wine flights are available in France and Italy, sake flights in Japan and beer flights in Germany.

1. A great sit down meal at a restaurant

What kind of foodie would I be if my number one Epcot splurge was not on a sit down meal in World Showcase?! The dining in Epcot is a favorite for my family. Enjoying a meal in a Disney restaurant is so worth the cost. The cottage pie at Rose and Crown, Pork Caritas in Mexico, delicious steaks at Le Cellier in Canada and the Roast Chicken at Chefs de France are a few of our favorite dishes among our many restaurant favorites. Taking the time to enjoy top notch Disney dining is always worth the splurge!
