10 Best Counter Service Meals at Epcot World Showcase

Lartis an de Glaces

One of the best things about Epcot’s World Showcase is the numerous choices you have to get something delicious to eat. The only problem you may end up having is trying to decide what to eat. Here is a short list of some of the best counter service meals to try while walking around the world. Don’t’ worry about the calories, all that walking will help burn those off before you eat at your next country.

10 – Yorkshire County Fish Shop – If you are in the mood for ye olde’ fish and chips, then make sure you stop here. The fish is breaded and fried just right and served with seasoned chips. They also have cookies and beer on draft.

9 – Sommerfest – While waltzing through Germany, make a stop at Sommerfest. Here you can indulge in Bavarian apple strudel, brats with kraut and even Black Forest cake and a German beer or two.

8 – Kringla Bakeri go Café – This place had been on my “must- eat” list for a while and I was excited to finally get to try it. They have an amazing sweet pretzel that you can have topped with either chocolate or toasted almonds, or you could try the traditional school bread made with cinnamon sweet bread and filled with custard. If you are looking for more than just a sweet treat, then try one of their fresh sandwiches, made with a variety of Norwegian meats and cheeses.

7 – Lotus Blossom – While there isn’t anything in this China counter service restaurant that will blow you away, it is still pretty tasty. The orange chicken, dumplings and egg rolls are our family’s favorite and the portions are certainly big enough to share.

6 – Liberty Inn – If you are craving an All American burger or hot dog, then head to Liberty Inn. Here you can indulge in some American classics or try a new spin on the BLT (which includes grilled chicken and red pepper aioli…yum!). Don’t leave there without dessert. A warm peach cobbler or rocky road brownie is sure to make your meal even better.

5 – Crepes de Chef de Paris – No list about the World Showcase is complete without a mention of these very delicious French crepes. They are available in a few varieties including sugar, chocolate, strawberry and my favorite, sugar served with ice cream.

4 – L’Artisan de Glaces – Looking for a treat to cool you off on a hot Florida day? Make this World Showcase stop to find a variety of different ice creams and sorbets. You can get them served in the classic waffle cone or get creative and have a macaron ice cream sandwich. For the over 21 crowd, try the Ice Cream Martini, a 2 scoop ice cream drink served with a shot of Grand Mariner, whipped cream vodka or rum.

3 – Tangierine Café – If you want something a little healthy, stop at this Moroccan café. Here you can nibble on tender chicken and lamb skewers, hummus and fruit plates and Mediterranean falafel wraps. They won’t disappoint or make you feel guilty.

2 – La Cantina de San Angel – Want a beautiful place to sit while eating some very filling Mexican food? Stop by the outdoor café across from the Mayan temple. We ate here this summer and loved the food and the serving sizes. The nachos were made to order and the churros with caramel sauce finished the meal on a sweet note. They also serve tacos, empanadas and guacamole. If you love margaritas, try the mango or cranberry flavored one.

1 – Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie – This place has it all. Amazing baguette sandwiches, quiches and desserts to make you forget you really aren’t in France. You can have soups like lobster bisque or potato and leek served in bread bowls. To finish off mealtime, make sure to try a napoleon or an éclair.

I may never be a world traveler, but at least when I head to Epcot, I can still taste some great food from around the world. This is really just a small sampling of all the different foods you can try while at Epcot, but it may be just enough to get you started on your journey across the globe… Disney style.
