5. Rise and shine for new southern brunch doughnuts

On June 24, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs launched a brand-new brunch option. It’s the Rise & Shine Southern Brunch, and it’s held every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. An entirely new menu was crafted just for the occasion, featuring an array of signature appetizers, entrées, and even accompanying specialty cocktails. One of the most highly anticipated items on the menu is the House-Made Doughnuts starter, which consists of miniature iced bacon and pecan doughnuts drizzled with house-made caramel or dusted with sugar, and served with spiced cane syrup and seasonal fruit.

Some of the other palatable pursuits you’ll enjoy here include, but are not limited to: the Grand-Daddy Plate, Hush Puppy Benedict, Short Rib Hash, and the Hallelujah Biscuit. The latter comes served as an open-faced biscuit topped with the restaurant’s own signature fried chicken, two eggs over-easy, pimento cheese, pecan-smoked bacon, and a smothering of sawmill gravy, plus your choice of a side. The morning cocktail pairings here are sure to start your day with a bold kick, with such offerings ranging from Bloody Marys to sangrias, moonshine to mimosas, and of course the famous Florida Crush. This unique take on a southern-style country brunch delivers the perfect balance of traditional and quaint with an exciting one-of-a-kind original twist.

The first option comes as a flaky pastry stuffed with raspberry marmalade and encased with strawberry fondant and crispy pearl topping.
