10 Major Changes Coming to Walt Disney World Resort Parks

Valley Of Mo'ara

1. Pandora - The World of Avatar

The biggest change so far this year for Walt Disney World is the opening of Pandora-The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 27, 2017.  It took six years to create this 12-acre addition to Animal Kingdom, and it is definitely worth the wait.  The story of Pandora is based on the top-grossing film, Avatar, but if you’ve never seen the movie, you will nevertheless enjoy what Pandora has to offer.  The moment you cross the bridge into the Valley of Mo’ara, you will notice the sounds of animals not seen, a jungle with colorful, unfamiliar plants, and hovering far above the landscape, a floating mountain range.

The two main attractions are: “Avatar, Flight of Passage”, where you soar high over Pandora on the back of a mountain banshee.  The second major attraction is Na’vi River Journey—This is a family-friendly boat ride through the Valley of Mo’ara, with glowing bioluminescent plants, waterfalls, soothing music, and 3-D images of the animal inhabitants of Pandora.

There are so many changes coming to all of Walt Disney World; some confirmed, some just rumors, but there is no doubt that Disney World will never stay the same.  It will constantly be evolving into something bigger, more exciting, and more magical than ever.  I look forward to each visit, knowing that no two visits are ever the same.  There is always something new to lexperience here at the “most magical place on earth”.

The two main attractions are: “Avatar, Flight of Passage”, where you soar high over Pandora on the back of a mountain banshee.  The queque before you even get to the actual ride is absolutely amazing.  There are beautiful flowers, waterfalls, floating mountains, and the valley below.  After a leisurely walk through the Pandora landscape, you enter a cave filled with old paintings from Na’vi history, and the remains of an old abandoned building from RDA, the mining company that wreaked havoc on the peaceful inhabitants, Na’vi, who were treated badly by the company’s people.  The inside is as magnificent and detailed as the outside.  The ride vehicle itself will captivate everyone—you sit on the ride like a motorcycle, and you are then locked in by back and leg constraints, very secure.  Your vehicle will be moving while you soar over Pandora via a realistic virtual viewing screen.  The movements and scenery are magnificent, and as the film progresses you will understand why you are locked in your vehicle.

The second major attraction is Na’vi River Journey—This is a family-friendly boat ride through the Valley of Mo’ara, with glowing bioluminescent plants, waterfalls, soothing music, and 3-D images of the animal inhabitants of Pandora.  This attraction is so peaceful and beautiful that you won’t want to leave.  Ooops, I forgot to mention the fantastic addition of a new Pandora restaurant, Satu’li Canteen.  Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the cuisine here is pure Na’vi, with entrees like a breakfast steamed pod(filled with scrambled eggs, spinach, and cheddar cheese, served with pickled slaw, sustainable fish bowl, cheeseburger steamed pod(ground beef, mustard, ketchup, pickle and cheddar cheese served with crunchy vegetable slaw and vegetable chips, and for your sweet tooth, how about a blueberry cream cheese mousse with passion fruit curd.  I hope you enjoy your entire Pandor-The World of Avatar experience.
