2. Frontera Cocina
Another Disney Springs newbie that opened a little over a year ago is Frontera Cocina. Featuring the masterful work of Chef Rick Bayless—eight-time winner of the James Beard Award—Frontera Cocina provides diners with a fresh, modern take on authentic Mexican classics. Tuck into traditional starters like chips, salsa, guacamole, tortilla soup, and many others. Entrée favorites include, but are not limited to: carne asada, shrimp mojo de ajo, enchiladas, tacos, salads, and even steak. And don’t forget delicious accompaniments, like arroz con plantains, grilled calabacitas, refried black beans with cheese, fried plantains, and queso añejo mashed potatoes. Pair your meal with a specialty drink like a margarita, cocktail, or other offering. Then top it all off with something sweet, like ancho chile chocolate cake, coconut-lime cuatro leches, seasonal sorbet, or pecan pie bar.
The very ambiance of the restaurant’s décor and theme reflects vibrant, lively colors that pair perfectly with the vast menu enticements. And the open kitchen where you can watch the chefs diligently at work in their preparations is ever entertaining.
