10 Reasons Why Disney's Sci-Fi Dine In Restaurant Is A Fan Favorite

you won't be disappointed by the restaurants at Disney World

If you’re looking for a unique themed restaurant with delicious food and great entertainment, the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is an excellent option. This hotspot at Disney’s Hollywood Studios transports guests all the way back to the 1950’s for an authentic drive-in movie experience. Here are 10 reasons why Disney’s Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is a fan favorite:

10. Vintage Movie Clips

During your meal, sci-fi movie clips from the 1950’s and 60’s are projected onto a large screen. The 45-minute compilation features sci-fi trailers from that time period. The montage includes snippets from films like Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster, The Amazing Colossal Man, and many others. Vintage commercials and PSA’s also add to the entertainment. The movie and commercial clips are meant to be light-hearted and fun, but be aware that some portions may frighten little ones.

9. All-American Fare

Reuben’s, burgers, sandwiches, and ribs are just a few popular dishes here. The fried dill pickles and the spinach and artichoke dip are great appetizers to kick off your meal. Sundaes and milkshakes are also popular here with portions that are larger than most other Disney restaurants. The restaurant is Disney Dining Plan friendly. Adults can enjoy full bar service along with select wines. This eatery stays open until the park closes, which is typically late in the evening. USA Today ranks The Sci-Fi Dine-In fifteenth on its list of best restaurants in American amusement parks.

8. Unique Seating

The tables here are modeled after 1950’s-style cars. This set-up allows guests to enjoy the feature up on the big screen. A majority of the tables here are structured this way with front and back counters facing forward. However, this arrangement makes it difficult to talk during the meal. There are a variety of regular tables too, which are structured within oversized cars. Mounted beside each car is a speaker, so guests can hear the sci-fi feature playing above.

7. The Location

This dazzling restaurant is conveniently located on Commissary Lane at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s central to everything including Star Tours and The Backlot. Keep in mind that park admission is required to eat here. The interior measures a whopping 8,400 square feet with a seating capacity of 260. Outside the restaurant is a prop car, which is the perfect place to take pictures!
