1. Use gift cards to control spending
For older kids (and adults), gift cards can be a great way to budget. Everyone gets a gift card at the beginning of the trip with his or her souvenir budget. When the money is gone, it’s gone. It’s a great way to keep yourself from over-spending, and a good way to teach kids about budgeting. Gift cards are especially useful for Epcot festivals, like Food and Wine, when you end up making lots of little purchases that can add up fast. Beware charging things to your room via Magic Band; while it’s convenient, it’s really easy for charges to add up without your noticing, and getting stuck with a huge bill at the end of your visit is a bummer.
The best vacation isn't worth it if it ends up putting you in debt. Be smart about your spending and take advantage of these tips and you can keep your Walt Disney World vacation super fun and super budget friendly!
