6 Sensational Things You’ll Love About Disney’s NEW Riviera Resort

Riviera Resort

New offerings- whether rides, resorts, or even cute snacks- often get lots of hype.  Disney’s Riviera Resort is no exception. The Riviera is Disney Vacation Club’s 15th resort, and it has taken its place among the most luxurious resorts on property.  Are you curious about Disney’s new Riviera Resort and whether the hype is deserved? Read on to learn about the resort and all that it has to offer!

1. The Views & Decor- Inside and Out!

Whether you’re looking out at the lake with the Skyliner gliding through the sky, or have a “standard” view room where you may be able to see fireworks from your balcony, Disney’s Riviera Resort has some incredible views from the guest rooms and from the grounds in general.  You’ll also love the unique memorabilia located throughout the resort, which is inspired by and taken from Walt Disney’s travels in Europe. Be sure to check out the beautiful Disney character-inspired art in the hallways and guest rooms as well!

2.  Recreation  & Grounds

There’s no denying that the grounds of this resort are beautiful!  Guests can appreciate water features, exquisite tile murals similar to what you see inside Cinderella’s Castle, lovely lawns and pool areas, and picturesque water views with the Disney Skyliner floating overhead.  The grounds themselves are full of fun to be discovered, especially in the “backyard” of the resort. There, you’ll find bocce ball, porch-style swings, activity lawns, a chess lawn, and fire pit. Dining is located on the ground level as well, allowing you to look out on the grounds from the quick service dining locations or even dine in the open air.

3. Pool & Splash Area

The Riviera has 2 Mediterranean-themed pools, one being a smaller and quieter pool.  The feature pool has a twisting water slide, constructed with seamless fiberglass- no more uncomfortable “bump” when you go from one segment of the slide to the next.  Most impressive, perhaps, is the children’s splash and play area, known as “S’il Vous Play.” With a few slides to enjoy, plenty of spraying fountain features, and water cannons, it’s sure to occupy younger guests!  Of all the resort splash areas, I felt that this area was easy to supervise, without too much obstructing my vision around the area. They definitely had parents in mind when they designed the area- there’s plenty of comfortable seating and even access to Bar Riva if you’re craving a snack or drink!
