6 Sensational Things You’ll Love About Disney’s NEW Riviera Resort

Skyliner

4. Access to the Disney Skyliner

One of the biggest advantages of staying at Riviera is the park access.  Disney busses are usually great, but resorts with alternate transportation options like monorail and boat access have always been desirable to guests. The Skyliner gives guests easy access to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (via a transfer at the Caribbean beach station).  The Skyliner also offers easy access to Art of Animation and Pop Century, which have fun grounds to explore, great food courts, and a large arcade. Let’s not forget the best part about the Skyliner- it’s fun!

5. Primo Piatto & Bar Riva

When my family planned a trip to Disneyland, one of the things I read about many times was how we just had to try the Monte Cristo and “Pomme frites” (parmesan fries, basically) at Cafe Orleans or the Blue Bayou.   To the delight of many, the famous Monte Cristo and parmesan fries are now available in Walt Disney World, and you can enjoy them at Bar Riva.

Bar Riva is an open-air eatery located adjacent to the pool, but it’s plenty comfortable on even a chilly day, thanks to their heaters.  This “more than a bar” pool bar is perfect for a relaxing meal, and you can even take your snacks and drinks out by the pool area to enjoy if you prefer.

Primo Piatto, located next to Bar Riva but inside the resort, is another great option.  There are plenty of yummy choices to enjoy, as well as easy grab and go options. Mobile ordering makes picking up a quick meal to enjoy in your room an easy solution!

6. Topolino’s Terrace

Topolino's Terrace

Character dining is highly sought after, and finding reservations at prime times can be difficult if you’re looking to book a place as popular as Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary.  Topolino’s Terrace is a fantastic new alternative that marries classic character interaction (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy) with new costumes and incredible food options! Enjoying a meal served at your table, in contrast to having to get up to visit the buffet, makes for a more relaxing experience.

If you’ve tried Trattoria al Forno’s “Bon Voyage Breakfast”, this is similar. You’ll enjoy pastries for the table, juice and other beverages, and an entree that you select. The views from the floor to ceiling windows and the outdoor terrace are an added bonus! If you dine at Topolino’s Terrace for dinner, you’ll have a signature dining experience- excellent food, brilliantly paired wines, and delicious desserts- but no characters.

If you’ve visited the Riviera, or it’s on your Disney “must-do” list for the future, we would love to hear what you loved most or what you’re looking forward to enjoying there!
