7 Brilliant Tips For Carrying Out Your Dream Disney Vacation

4.  Reserve the “Extras” That Are Right for You

Disney offers many experiences that incur additional costs.  Some families avoid these altogether- and who can blame them? There’s plenty to do at Walt Disney World.  For others, it can be tempting to reserve several extra-special experiences.  Looking for a happy medium? Try to hone in on one experience that will be best for your family.  They’re all bound to be fun, but which one will give you the most bang for your buck?

Are you motivated to see Happily Ever After (Magic Kingdom’s fireworks spectacular) with an unobstructed castle view, but hate waiting over an hour to scope out the perfect spot?  Consider the Happily Ever After Dessert Party! Have a Frozen fanatic in the family, but you already used your Tier 1 FastPass at Epcot for Soarin’? Consider the Frozen Ever After Sparkling Dessert Party at Epcot instead (they take you on a late-night ride on Frozen Ever After after the park closes).  Have a huge Mr. Smee fan on your hands? Folks on the Pirates and Pals cruise will meet him before embarking on their journey! Disney historian-in-the-making in your travel group? Consider booking a behind the scenes tour.

3.  Hydrate on the Cheap

This may seem like a no-brainer, but when you’re busy enjoying the parks, it’s easy to forget to drink enough water.  Dole whips and Starbucks lattes are delicious, but you need water (especially in the hotter months) to keep your energy up.  Avoid spending theme park prices for individual bottles of water, though. Consider a water bottle with a filter on it (Florida tap water isn’t for everyone) and refill at fountains.  You can also bring your own cold bottles in your backpack, or even ask for a free cup of ice water at any counter service food location.
