KiteTails at Disney World Coming to an End This Month

Disney recently announced that the controversial Animal Kingdom Park attraction KiteTails would be coming to an end soon.

The Walt Disney World Resort is filled with some of the most magical and incredible attractions, from the Haunted Mansion to the “Festival of Fantasy,” that all make up the Disney experience. But while fans flock to Disney World for some rides, others have a more controversial reputation.

From kites tearing to rough landings, Disney’s KiteTails has had its ups and downs during its time. And, per a recent announcement from Disney, that time is now coming to an end.

Journalist Scott Gustin took to Twitter to share the news. Check it out:

Fans on Twitter had mixed reactions to this development at the Disney Park.

@carlyewisel tweeted, “how could you not call and warn me, I am shattered.”

Lawyer of Dragons, @Dragonlawyer11, added, “This was the best live-action show Disney has ever done. When it worked it was absolutely beautiful. When it didn’t, it was such an entertaining as hell disaster. No matter what you left that show with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.”

However, on the flip side, @robiss215 was surprised the ride was still around. He said, “Yup. When I saw the original post my thought was ‘that’s still going?'”

KiteTails is an attraction in DinoLand U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which, as we found out recently during D23, will be revamped. Josh D’Amaro announced the development at D23 and brought on Chris Beatty and Jennifer Lee from Walt Disney Imagineering to talk about ideas for the revamp as well.
