Magic Kingdom Touring Plan for Families With Small Children

1. Late Evening

The last word of advice in the Magic Kingdom touring plan is one of caution.  Many parents choose to leave the park just after the fireworks show so that they can get their children to bed at a decent hour – or at least decent for a theme park day.  This is a great idea and a particularly important one if you will be visiting another park the very next day.  Even if your kids have done well up to this point, think carefully before pushing them too hard.  You want them to end their day on a good note where nobody is over-exhausted.  If, however, your children are used to staying up a bit later at home or if they give every indication that they can handle it, you can try doing some last attractions or late shopping.  One of my favorite pictures is a selfie of me and my 5-year old daughter on Main Street with the castle in the background that was taken after midnight!  Just be sure to keep a close eye on them as the evening wears on for signs that they’ve had enough.

Have you gone to the Magic Kingdom with very young children?  What is your best advice for families with young ones who want to make their day in the park go as smoothly as possible?
