New Additions to Disney World Resort You'll Love Exploring

Castle Flowers

Walt Disney World is welcoming the new decade with some big and exciting changes on the property. Some updates are ongoing, while some have been recently introduced. From resorts to restaurants, to parks we are ready for all the updates. We discuss some of our most anticipated new experiences in this article.

In The Parks…

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Storm Trooper

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened August 29, 2019 and has been consistently wowing guests with the immersive experience. With beloved Star Wars characters going about their business fixing pods or shopping in the marketplace and the excellent attention to theming that spans the rides, food and architecture; guests actually feel like they have entered another galaxy. Even ride experiences are more immersive with guests taking unique spots to fly the Millennium Falcon in the Smuggler’s Run ride.

Rise of the Resistance

Thrill seekers can’t miss the newest attraction in this part of the park. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opened in December 2019 and gives guests a chance to battle the First Order in a larger than life ride. Do not visit Galaxy’s Edge without sampling the delicacies of the planet. A trip to Oga’s Cantina is a must do, as is sampling blue milk from the Milk Stand and a juicy droid grilled wrap from Ronto Roasters!

Epcot Makeover

Epcot World Celebration

Epcot is getting a major fluff up for the new decade and we could not be more excited. The updates to this park are going to be major so we will just hit the highlights. A favorite ride from Hollywood Studios Paris is coming to Orlando! That’s right guests will get the chance to shrink down to mouse size and work alongside Chef Remi in his kitchen at the new 4D ride addition to the France pavilion. Rumored to be opening as early as late spring 2020, we can only guess when this new attraction will open to guests but we can’t wait to visit Gusteau’s with Chef Remi sometime in 2020!

Guardians Of The Galaxy

Thrill ride fans will be excited to hear of the new Guardians of the Galaxy coaster coming to Future World. We don’t know exactly what to expect because Disney imagineers have described the attraction as next generation coaster with immersive storytelling. What we do know, is that we will be the first ones in line to experience this new attraction when it opens around 2021.

epcot

Epcot Forever is a brand new evening show wowing guests around World Showcase. This firework, kite, laser and light show tells the story of Epcot with more beauty and sparkle than you can imagine. Don’t miss seeing this beautiful show on your next visit to Epcot. Even the park entrance is transforming. More greenspace at the Future World entrance to the park as well as new entry pathways and décor is in the works.

The pavilion that previously housed Wonders of Life (many years ago) will be home to the new Innovation Pavilion where guests can meet characters and have the interactive learning experiences that are so much a part of Epcot’s culture. If you are visiting Epcot in the coming year do not miss an opportunity to drop by the Epcot Experience in the Odyssey building near the entrance of World Showcase. A 360 film walks guests through park plans for the coming years and will have you ready to book your next visit to Walt Disney World, before you even leave Epcot!

Set to open on March 4, 2020 this long awaited attraction will be housed in the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood Studios. Many of the details of this attraction have been kept under wraps which adds to the anticipation. We do know that this attraction is a one of a kind opportunity for guests to jump into the animation and take a crazy ride with Mickey, Minnie and the gang through a cartoon world full of surprises, thrills, laughs and fun.
