Our Favorite Places For Comfort Food At Disney World Resort

Everybody loves good old comfort food favorites, and visitors to Walt Disney World Resort are no exception. Fortunately for them, the food scene here is pretty profuse with something sure to suit any appetite or distinction. And for those who crave classic comfort cuisine choices the options vary immensely, so much so, it would be difficult to mention them all. So we’ve narrowed the list down to our 11 favorite places where you can find comfort food all around Disney World.

1. Liberty Tree Tavern

It doesn’t get any comfier than this quaint colonial-themed favorite, which can be found at Liberty Square within Magic Kingdom Park. Regardless of what time of year it is, here Thanksgiving feasting is always the norm, with all the works and trimmings served up at your table in traditional family-style format. The primary offering here is the All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Bill of Fare, which is available for both lunch and dinner and includes the starter of the Declaration Salad, the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake dessert and the Patriot’s Platter as the main entrée. The aforementioned is comprised of roasted turkey breast, pot roast, oven-roasted pork, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb stuffing, and house-made macaroni and cheese. There is also a lunch menu of lighter eats available for those still looking for hearty comfort classics but in a more manageable format. Such favorites include Revolutionary Meatloaf, Tavern Battered Fish and Chips, Turkey Pot Pie, The BELL Burger, Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger, Lobster Roll, Colony Salad, Our Tavern Keeper’s Favorite (a pot roast platter), and The Pilgrim’s Feast (a turkey breast plate with all the trimmings).

2. Columbia Harbour House

Not far is another Liberty Tree Square favorite, this one being arguably the most diversified quick service eatery in all of Magic Kingdom Park. Whether you hanker for an informal comfort classic like a sandwich or chicken breast nuggets, or a more sustaining plated entrée, Columbia Harbor House has you covered. In keeping with the old-fashioned coastal theme, guests looking to enjoy seafood comforts certainly have their pick from many noteworthy mainstays, like New England Clam Chowder, the Shrimp & Fish Combo, Lobster Roll, Tuna Sandwich, and so much more. Other creature comforts that are popular here include, but are in no way limited to: Chicken Pot Pie, Macaroni & Cheese, Vegetarian Chili, and the Trio Platter, which is a combination of fried shrimp, breaded chicken breast nuggets, and battered fish, served with hushpuppies and a choice of green beans and carrots, apple slices, or French fries. The Seasonal Peach Cobbler and the classic Boston Cream Pie both make delectable dessert sendoffs as well.

3. Beaches & Cream Soda Shop

Rediscover the nostalgia and beachfront fun of the day at this malt shop-inspired joint, located right in the heart of Disney’s Beach Club Resort. While Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is largely renowned for their delectable ice cream concoctions, which are undeniably comfort food classics in their own right, the restaurant is also known for dishing out good old American grilled goodness as well. From different burgers and sandwiches to well-loved platters and sides, Beaches & Cream will not disappoint. One classic many patrons can’t get enough of is the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Bisque entrée. Another creature comfort is the Country-fried Steak plate, which is comprised of fried and breaded New York steak slices and served with gravy and fries. Other fan favorites include Sock Hop Fries (French fries with white gravy and shredded cheese), Chili Cheese Fries, Cheese and Bacon Fries, Onion Rings, Chili, and much more. Paired perfectly with an ice cream soda or milk shake, or to be followed by one of the restaurant’s more decadent original dessert concoctions, dining at Beaches & Cream is an all-around fun-loving dining destination that everyone in your party is sure to love.

4. Woody’s Lunch Box

One of the newest quick service eateries at Hollywood Studios has already risen to fame as a fan favorite amongst comfort food seekers. Located rightfully within Toy Story Land, Woody’s Lunch Box is a clever counter service spot that delivers on nostalgic childhood eats that adults remember happily from their youth and that kids today can still enjoy the timelessness of. One exemplary eat here, featured both at breakfast time as well as throughout the day is the Lunch Box Tart—an upgraded take on the classic toaster oven tart many young and young at heart can’t get enough of. Available flavors include the Chocolate-Hazelnut Lunch Box Tart, coated with maple fondant and candied bacon, and the Raspberry Lunch Box Tart, with raspberry marmalade filling, strawberry fondant, and crispy pearls. Other comforts available during breakfast time include the S’more French Toast Sandwich, Breakfast Bowl, Banana Split Yogurt Parfait, and Smoked Turkey Breakfast Sandwich.
