Our Top 20 Disney World Tips For Rookies

Epcot Spaceship Earth

17. Wear Sneakers

Even if you hate sneakers and never, never wear them, do not wear flip flops or any other uncomfortable shoe into the parks. You will regret it. So often, I would decide to wear flip flops and by the end of the night, I could barely even walk. This is only exacerbated by the fact that you may have no other option than to stand on your bus for maybe, the 20-minute drive back to the resort especially after closing. Do your feet a favor and wear the right kind of shoes. You'll still look good in pictures, folks, I promise.

18. Experience All Aspects of a Land Before Moving on To The Next

While there’s nothing wrong with hitting up Space Mountain and then trekking all the way to Liberty Square to visit the Haunted Mansion, it takes up a lot of time when there’s enough entertainment in one land. My recommendation is to start at one side of the Magic Kingdom, whether this is Adventureland or Tomorrowland and ride and experience everything before moving on to another This ensures that you’re getting the most out of every part of the park - and you may even stumble across some hidden gems along the way!

19. Stop at Every Photo Opportunity.

In Tomorrowland, there’s the now, famous Purple Wall, plus character meet-and-greets, picturesque backdrops and everything in between that will serve as great tokens to look back on. Most big backdrops have a Disney photographer there who will take a picture for you. If you purchase Memory Maker, this is just another example of how you can capture these fun-filled memories.

20. Have Fun

It should go without saying, but the bottom line is that Walt Disney World is a theme park, and with it come long lines, loud children, and large crowds. This is especially true if you’re visiting during peak seasons such as summer or during a winter holiday. Be mindful to take a step back and relax and enjoy everything there is about the best theme park in the world. Yeah, it may suck that you’re waiting in line for an hour in the Florida heat, but you’re with your family and friends, in the Happiest Place on Earth. If you ask me, an hour wait for your favorite ride beats anything you’d ordinarily be doing at home. Don’t stress and enjoy every moment of this trip because vacation goes by in a blink of an eye.
