Things You Won’t Want to Miss at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

With Disney World approaching 2021 and the celebration to mark the resort’s 50th birthday, Disney is pulling out all of the stops with additions and improvements to the theme parks, resorts, and even the roads across the resort. 2017 saw the debut of Pandora: The World of AVATAR at Animal Kingdom. 2018 brought Toy Story Land to Hollywood Studios. The next major addition to the resort is Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge debuting at Hollywood Studios in late 2019. While guests can’t make their advanced dining reservations or choose FastPass+ selections yet, here are the five things you won’t to miss at Galaxy’s Edge!

1. Backstory

Guests will be traveling to the Outer Rim planets, Batuu and visiting the Black Spire Outpost. The entire experience will be extraordinarily immersive. Guests will be viewing and interacting with the a variety of characters from the Star Wars saga. While specific details have been closely guarded so far, guests can discover some information about the planet and the Black Spire Outpost in a book out now, Thrawn: Alliances. There will still be plenty of mystery and surprise for guests, but the book is enough to pique your interest before it opens!

2. Oga’s Cantina

Galaxy’s Edge will feature a new dining location for guests to relax and recharge. With the location of the Black Spire Outpost, it is an almost certainty that the menu that will be out of this world. The menu will also feature favorites that guests have seen in the movies for the last forty years — who can’t wait to have a glass of blue milk just like Luke? In addition to the food, the story of Galaxy’s Edge will be furthered with a visit to this popular stopping point.

3. Millennium Falcon Attraction

The crown jewel of Galaxy’s Edge will be this attraction that will invite guests to climb aboard the most infamous ship in the galaxy and allow them to pilot the ship as it embarks on a mission. The ride system is being touted as highly advanced as the story that unfolds for guests is based on their performance on the tasks presented to them during the course of the ride. Based on your performance throughout the ride, guests may be rewarded on a fantastic voyage or scolded for an unsuccessful mission. With these details known, it is assured that this attraction will have a high re-rideability factor since no ride can be exactly the same!
