The Best Ways To Find Characters At Walt Disney World

Disney Characters

There’s no shortage of Character Greetings at Walt Disney World Resort, and it’s also fair to say that there’s someone for everyone. Whether it’s the classic bunch, your favorite Pixar heroes, your favorite Marvel heroes or characters from a galaxy far, far away, you won’t be disappointed. With that said, finding them is often not without challenge.

For starters, with dozens to choose from, it can be tricky to know where to start, but this can depend on how long you’ll be spending at the resort. The second challenge is knowing the best ways to track them down. But if you plan your self-made scavenger hunt using the fastest and most effective methods, you might be able to see more characters than time would otherwise allow!

1. The Official Disney World Website

It goes without saying that the official Walt Disney World Resort website is one of the best places to start. While there are much more effective ways to look for characters as you explore the parks, familiarizing yourself before setting about your adventure is highly recommended. So get to know what characters are around, where those characters are typically located and at what times of the day.

You should also take the time to research what entertainment is available. Sure, a Character Greeting is one of the more personal and exciting experiences, but seeing them in action on stage can also be just as meaningful to you or your little Padawan during your Disney adventure. Checking out the website also means avoiding disappointment, as Character Greetings and shows are subject to cancellation.

2. The My Disney Experience Mobile App

This is perhaps the most useful tool you can possess when it comes to finding characters. In fact, it’s almost magical in its own right. This popular mobile app has a lot to offer, from being able to book your FastPass+ to checking wait times for attractions. But it also features a GPS-enabled map, wait times for Character Greetings and their whereabouts. Who needs to be Force-sensitive with an app like this?

Even better news is that this app is free (available on the App Store and Google Play). And it now also includes the new “Get Directions” function, meaning you’re much less likely to wind up lost while you look for Pooh or Buzz or whichever character has a blank page in your autograph book - or a blank space on the sole of your boot! Downloading this app ahead of your trip will give you all the magic you need.
