Tips For Visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Millennium Falcon

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the only place in the star system where you can immerse yourself into the world made famous by lightsabers and spear-wielding teddy bears. However, as it’s so popular, visiting isn’t easy, and neither is making sure you get as much out of it as you possibly can.

The land’s popularity has resulted in entry restrictions and zero guarantee for making the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. But there’s “a new hope” just yet, so don’t dwell because anger leads to hate and, well, you get the idea. Check out these tips for visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Do or do not, there is no try…

Savii's Workshop

7. Make Reservations

While walk-ins are possible, the likes of hugely popular experiences Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers and the Droid Depot are subject to availability. The good news is that reservations for admission (which is separate to your Disney’s Hollywood Studios ticket) can be made up to 180 days in advance.

Restaurants may be full to the brim on arrival too, so you’ll also need to factor this into your adventure. Just download the My Disney Experience mobile app to make your reservations (sadly the app’s Force-feature for clearing a path through busy crowds is yet to be added).

Storm Trooper

6. Be Aware Of Restrictions

Since the big opening, access to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been heavily restricted (don’t worry - this isn’t due to a First Order occupation). It’s no surprise, though, considering this is the first Star Wars-themed land in existence. The good news is that with restrictions in place, the land won’t be too over-crowded (though very crowded nonetheless).

If, however, you are lucky enough to bypass intergalactic border control, then you should at least prepare yourself for the possibility of missing out on the likes of Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. On that note, it’s also worth noting that the FastPass+ service is sadly not available at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
