What's New And What's Coming To Epcot At Walt Disney World

Guardians Of The Galaxy

4. Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope Character Greetings – Future World

With Wreck-It Ralph sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet just weeks away from destroying the worldwide web, the anticipation for the return of the lovable Ralph and his adorable buddy Vanellope couldn’t be higher. But you needn’t look any further than your favorite theme park resort.

Starting November 21, the two will be emerging from their digital world so that you can enjoy a Character Greeting at Innoventions West! Be sure to check Epcot’s Times Guide or the My Disney Experience app for times and locations which are always subject to change.

5. Guardians of the Galaxy – Future World

In 2021, as part of Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary, the Guardians of the Galaxy will enjoy its first ever attraction at the resort. And what better place for it to land than at Epcot’s Future World, where it will introduce plenty of intergalactic rock n’ roll.

This family-friendly roller coaster will feature an all-new story line for guests to enjoy as they’re thrust into the cosmos with characters from the hugely-popular movies. The Guardians films may share their “universe” with all the other MCU movies, but in 2021 you’ll be a part of it, too.

6. Disney Skyliner – Walt Disney World Resort

Another new addition that’s expected to make a landing (or the opposite) in 2019 is Disney Skyliner – the brand new gondola system that will interconnect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four Disney Resort Hotels. Along with the recently-added Minnie Vans, this will help make for seamless transportation throughout the resort.

With construction still underway across the resort, there’s no real telling when guests will be able to save miles of walking. However, there is an insightful video on the Disney Parks Blog that demonstrates just how Walt Disney World Resort is about to become “a small world after all”!

Needless to say, there are far more new experiences than those on this list. And the 50th anniversary year that is 2021 won’t just see the new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, as you can also expect a Tron-themed attraction inspired by the classic retro movie that can currently only be found in Shanghai Disneyland.

In the meantime, be sure to experience those with an expiration date as soon as you can. As for those upcoming, stay familiar with the official Walt Disney World Resort website for new announcements. While the resort sure knows how to retain its ever-lasting charm, it’s also “a whole new world” from one year to the next, so don't miss out!
