Visiting a Disney Park is always a fun and memorable trip. Whether itβs with family or friends, there is always fun to be had by everyone when Disney is in the mix. A great number of fans consider a trip to the parks to be the ultimate family vacation, but there are those fans, myself included, who believe the magic of the parks is better experienced by visiting them on their own.
Visiting a park with a group is great, but there are multiple benefits to just taking the day by yourself. While it goes without saying that Disney magic is too precious not to share among friends, to say visiting the parks single player style does not have its perks would be grossly untrue. Here are ten benefits to visiting the parks solo.
10. You Call the Shots
Perhaps the biggest perk of hitting the parks solo is the freedom of choice. You can plan a super-coordinated trek of your choice of park, making sure to hit all the hotspots; or you can simply wander about and choose whatever ride or attraction suits your fancy. Theres an undeniable feeling of satisfaction when it comes to deciding how to spend the day. You can do all three of the mountains at The Magic Kingdom, walk the World Showcase at Epcot, whatever you like. Itβs all your call.
9. Money
Now it goes without saying that if you are going to any Disney Park, youβre going to need some extra cash for food, souvenirs, tee shirts, etc. A solo trip means the only funds you have to be concerned with are your own. You donβt have to think about any extra stops, unless you plan them, and hopefully you donβt have to account for extra tickets or lodgings. If you are going by yourself, manage a budget or certain amount of money. Plan ahead, and be sure to take a little extra in case of emergencies. Like Mom always says, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
8. Easy Seating
Anyone whoβs ever been to a Disney park will tell you that sometimes getting a seat for certain shows or a place to sit just to eat can be easier said than done. On a crowded day, it may seem impossible just to find somewhere to sit, rest, or eat. With so many groups and families flooding the park gates, good luck getting a table just to sit down and have a snack. As a single visitor, this isnβt a terrible problem.
Occasionally you might have to squeeze in for a show or performance space, but there is normally eating space available, as well as spaces to sit down and take everything in. A certainly minor perk to traveling alone, but a benefit nonetheless.
If you are spending a day at the parks by yourself, feel free to pace yourself and take it all in. There is a plethora of things to see and do in one park alone, it is highly ill-advised to try to run-go-do your way through. I personally advise all those travelers with a day at the parks to themselves to go in and take your time. Ride your rides and see the shows, but donβt forget to stop and find the Mickeys. The amount of detail the Imagineers have put into making the parks so magical is quite inspiring, be sure to check it out.
