On a hot Florida day at Disney World, nothing says “vacation” better than indulging with ice cream! To make room, you might want to skip lunch! We love these staple treats at Disney and plan our trip around our favorite sweet treat stops. Which yummy dessert is your favorite? We “all scream for ice cream” at Disney World!
10. Mickey Bar
You can never go wrong with a classic Mickey Bar or Mickey Sandwich. Just like the name implies, these ice cream bars and ice cream sandwiches come in the shape of Mickey’s head. Because they’re basically a Disney staple, you can find them all over the parks and resorts.
9. Dole Whip
Another Disney classic is the infamous Dole Whip, found in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland. The pineapple soft serve delight has made a name for itself as a true Disney fan’s favorite. For a twist on the original, pineapple floats and citrus whips are also available.
8. Mickey’s Kitchen Sink
This sundae is a mix of everything—including the kitchen sink! With three scoops of ice cream, syrups, whipped cream, toppings, and a cherry, this dessert is certainly shareable! And you even get to keep the sink (in the shape of Mickey’s pants) as a souvenir. Mickey’s Kitchen Sink is available at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom or at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club Resort. The difference between the two is size, options, and price. Beaches and Cream is home to the original, much larger Kitchen Sink sundae for dine-in guests.

7. Ice Cream Flights
Can’t decide on just one ice cream flavor at Boardwalk’s Ample Hills Creamery? You don’t have to! Grab a friend and pick out up to six of their gourmet flavors. Your treat will arrive in a something akin to a circular cupcake holder. Ample Hills also offers hard root beer and hard cherry floats for an adult spin on a childhood favorite.
6. Sand Pail
At Disney Water Parks you’ll find possibly the best ice cream value in all of Walt Disney World. The Sand Pail, a concoction of swirled ice cream, cone and cookie pieces, fudge, whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry, is easily big enough to feed four and comes in (what else?) a green sand pail with a shovel.
5. Croque Glacé
In the France pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase, you’ll find what could be considered the world’s most elegant ice cream sandwich. Choose the ice cream flavor and the syrup, and a cast member will hot press your selection inside a warm brioche (a bread-like pastry). They serve ice cream martinis too! C’est la vie!
4. Doughnut A la Mode
At Hollywood Studio’s Sci-Fi Dine-In, you can get the best of both breakfast and lunch desserts on one plate. The Warm Glazed Doughnut is layered with cinnamon apples, vanilla bean ice cream, and pearlized sprinkles. It’s not science fiction—it’s a delicious reality!
3. Fried Ice Cream
How do they do it? How do you actually fry ice cream? Well, who knows? But it’s amazing! It may not look pretty, but this gooey ice cream surrounded by a crunchy fried shell and topped with chocolate makes up for its looks in flavor. You can find this crispy, melty treat at the funnel cake carts on Boardwalk and in Disney Water Parks.
2. Gelato Sandwich
In the Italy pavilion of World Showcase, they don’t technically serve ice cream—it’s gelato! And for extra decadence you can get any flavor sandwiched in between two chocolate chip cookies. (They’ve also got an espresso/chocolate coffee bean invention that I’ve got my eye on…)
1. Churro Ice Cream Sandwiches
Located at the Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Magic Kindom’s Liberty Square, this sweet treat is one of our favorites! A generous scoop of delicious vanilla ice cream is placed between two large crunchy round churros. Prepare to eat quickly and grab spoons because the churros are warm and quickly melt the ice cream. It may be a little messy but 100% worth the extra sticky fingers! YUM!
