10 Reasons Why You’ll Love Disney’s Value Resorts

All Star Movies Resort

Disney resorts are subdivided by price range into three divisions: value, moderate, and deluxe. All of the resorts at Walt Disney World offer Disney magic, but each have their own theme and feel. The value resorts are Disney’s All-Star Movies, Disney’s All-Star Sports, Disney’s All-Star Music, Disney’s Pop Century, and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Here are ten reasons you’ll love staying at one of Disney’s value resorts:

10. Price

As indicated by the term “value”, these resorts are as inexpensive as you can stay on Disney property. Staying at a value resort is a great way to get the most Disney for your dollar. You could even save enough that you can add another few days onto your vacation. You won’t be sacrificing Disney magic – only cost!

9. Theming

The value resorts are the most over-the-top resorts on property. At All-Star Movies, Disney classics like the Dalmatians and Toy Story characters are around every corner. All-Star Music has giant guitars and piano keys, and at All-Star Sports you’ll find three-story football helmets and goalposts. Pop Century has buildings dedicated to each decade. The Art of Animation features the Little Mermaid, Cars, Finding Nemo and the Lion King. The fun factor is strong at all the value resorts.

8. Pools

The value resorts all have great pools – and a lot of them! Value resorts have big pools, kiddie pools, and quiet areas. All of them continue the elaborate theming of their respective resorts. Our favorites are the Little Mermaid and Cars themed pools at the Art of Animation Resort. Fun fact: the Nemo pool (also at AoA) is the largest pool at any WDW resort.

7. Food courts

One of our favorite things about the value resorts is the food. All of the value resorts have food courts, and offer a huge variety of choices for everyone’s tastes. You can find pizza, salads, grill items, pastas, and sandwiches, as well as plenty of snack and dessert options. Pizza delivery to your room is also always a yummy option! Being able to grab food and go means you’ll have more time for fun in the parks, too.

6. Playgrounds

The value resorts have great playgrounds, so when your little (or bigger) ones need to run off some energy before your dinner reservation, go find one of these that are tucked away between the resort buildings. Most of them are shaded and have places for the grown ups to sit and watch. Our kids love this daily “time-out” from the hustle and bustle of the parks.

5. Tons of family fun

When you’re not exploring the parks, there are tons of chances to make family memories together at the value resorts. Poolside dance parties, karaoke in the food courts, scavenger hunts and night time movies under the stars are just a few of the fun things we have experienced there. The front desk can give you a schedule of activities during your stay.

4. Photo ops everywhere

Thanks to the larger-than-life theming at the value resorts, there are plenty of places for fun family pictures. At All-Star Movies, check out the Dalmations and the RC car from Toy Story. Hewey, Dewey, and Louie playing tennis at All-Star Sports and the giant guitars at All-Star Music are other favorites.

3. Transportation

Just like all other on-property resorts, Disney offers complimentary transportation to other places on property. Most of the value resorts are in the Animal Kingdom area, and you can get there quickly with just a short bus ride. You can catch busses to anywhere else in the World from the value resorts, and they run every 15-20 minutes so you’ll never be waiting very long for the next one.

2. Gift shops

The value resorts have awesome gift shops with some unique merchandise. They’re a great place to start your vacation while you’re waiting on check in, or to browse for that special souvenir. The gift shops also offer a small selection of toiletries, snacks, and first aid items if needed.

1. Suites

The Art of Animation is the only resort with the option of a family suite. At this Disney resort, suites can sleep up to six people, with a separate bedroom and a small kitchen. This adds up to an even greater value when your party needs some extra space at the end of your magical day. The suites are themed with Finding Nemo, Cars, or the Lion King decor and are a big hit with kids and adults alike.

When you’re planning your next Disney vacation, definitely consider staying at one of these resorts to find even more things to love.
