10 Things No One Tells You About Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

Boardwalk Resort Pool

You’ve set your budget, selected your dates, and now it’s time to decide where your family is going to stay during your Walt Disney World vacation! Many new vacationers may be under the impression that resorts on Disney property are too expensive, they’re only themed for children, or they’re the same as other Orlando resorts. Here are a few things that no one tells you about the perks of staying on property at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

10. Pricing for Everyone

To fit every budget and family’s needs, Disney offers Value, Moderate and Deluxe Resort options for guests. No matter what price point you’re aiming for, each resort comes with the same perks! Some resorts offer regular double bedrooms, while others are suites designed for large families. Disney even has campgrounds for those who want an outdoorsy experience. There’s something for everyone at every price point!

Magical Express

9. Complimentary Transportation

Disney’s Magical Express transports you from Orlando International Airport to your resort so you don’t have to worry about taking a taxi or renting a car. The cast members load up your luggage and deliver it to your room. That means less time dealing with luggage and more time exploring the parks. There’s nothing better than checking in, heading to a park, and having your luggage waiting when you return.

But what about getting around Walt Disney World after you arrive? A few options exist, depending on where you’re staying. The most common method is Disney’s large fleet of buses, which take you from your resort to the parks and Disney Springs. The Monorail and water taxis are also available to certain places, depending on the location of your resort.

MagicBands

8. Convenient MagicBands

MagicBands are handy pieces of technology that contain everything you need in one. MagicBands are mailed out to resort guests earlier and come with more conveniences. They are your room key, your park tickets, your meal plan swipes, and you can sync your credit card with them. Gone are the days of carrying around park tickets and room keys. They come in different colors and designs and are unique to each member of your party.

7. Extra Magic Hours

Disney Resort guests can get into the parks an hour earlier than other guests and they’re allowed to stay up to two hours after other guests leave for the night. If you hate waiting in long lines, this is a great way to head to your favorite rides or attractions and experience little to no wait times.
