We Asked ChatGPT to Plan a Day at Disney World: You Won’t Dare Take Your Kids Using This Plan

When visiting Disney World with a limited amount of time, most would-be visitors might ask an experienced Disney-loving friend or travel agent or, better yet, read Disney Fanatic’s Top 20 Tips to create a perfect trip.

But what about asking ChatGPT? I wondered how good the chatbot would perform if tasked to create a 1-day plan.

TLDR: Plan Summary

First, like many first-time visitors, ChatGPT doesn’t adequately factor in the massive size and scale of Disney World.

Suggesting a 1-day plan that includes starting your day in Magic Kingdom and hopping to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and returning to the Magic Kingdom for Fireworks is unreasonable.

Next, some important details are outdated.

To make this day possible, the chatbot smartly points out the necessity of rope-dropping Magic Kingdom, which I agree is a must-do if you wish to maximize what you can do. But the chatbot gave us one of its famous hallucinations, suggesting that you use FASTPASS+, which was retired in 2021.

Genie+ and Lightening Lane could be substituted for FASTPASS+, but it’s going to get pricy, not to mention the added cost of a park hopper ticket, paying for the individual Lightening Lane rides that are included in the plan.

Overall, this plan is probably best suited for relatively young adults who have the energy and focus to make it happen. No way would I suggest a family with young kids try this plan, as they are likely to become exhausted even before arriving in Hollywood Studios, which is the 1/2 way point of the trip.
