8. Wrapped gifts
If Disney allowed Guests to bring in wrapped gifts to any of its parks, why would they have such an expansive group of Cast Members and security officers at the front gates of each of its theme parks? It makes sense that if you must visually disclose the contents of your purse, bags and backpacks at security checkpoints, that security officers are going to be inquisitive about what you have wrapped up in that cute Mickey-themed wrapping paper—and not because they’re nosy. They aren’t interested in what you’re giving your niece for her birthday when you meet her at Magic Kingdom. But they are interested in making sure that prohibited items are not being covertly brought into the parks. Can you guess how they find out what’s inside that wrapped gift? You might as well have your niece meet you at bag check because the gift you brought for her will be promptly unwrapped before you are granted admittance.
