8. Voyageurs’ Lounge

Another unique place to be featured at Disney’s Riviera Resort is the new Voyageurs’ Lounge. This one-of-a-kind spot is where guests can come to unwind, relax, and share in their day’s experiences with other guests and companions in a charming vintage Disney-inspired setting. The décor for this quaint room takes its inspiration from a collection of book titles that Walt Disney himself compiled during his own world travels and from his 1935 European “Grand Tour.” As they unwind here, guests will notice all the direct Disney connections to Europe as well as where the Riviera Resort’s motif directly emerged from.   

9. Pools and recreations

Just like any other Disney hotel property, Disney’s Riviera Resort will feature a wide range of recreational pursuits and leisurely activities. As pool time is an absolute essential pastime to be enjoyed at all Disney World Resorts, the Riviera is no exception, and therefore boasts several options that all keep with the resort’s overall theme. For a quiet way to unwind there’s the Beau Soleil Pool, while the family pool area offers up more action-packed endeavors. The Riviera Pool will be the heart of liveliness and excitement, and even feature a winding slide that wraps around a stately column tower. The S’il Vous Play, inspired by the grand public fountains Europe is well known for, will be an interactive water play area that children of all ages will enjoy, featuring ballet characters from Fantasia. Then aside from watery wonders, guests will enjoy a wide range of other resort recreations. The activity lawn is the place for chess, bocce ball, and even a fire pit. There’s also the Athlétique Fitness Center and various walking/jogging trails for those who like to stay fit while on vacation.

10. It’s coming soon!

While something this spectacular is definitely worth the wait, the best news is perhaps the fact that you don’t have to wait very long at all! Disney’s Riviera Resort is slated to open in late fall of this year. Even better, reservations are already being accepted for December 2019 bookings. So get ready for European-inspired vacationing done in full-fledged Disney-style much sooner than you ever could have imagined!
 
We are very excited about the opening of Disney’s Riviera Resort. Additionally, we mentioned earlier that Disney’s upcoming agenda also includes a brand new Star Wars-themed hotel to be added into the mix and many other park-wide additions to look forward to as well.
