12 Reasons You Should Visit Disney At Least Once A Year

I wish I could visit Walt Disney World every month of the year for at least 2 weeks out of each month. However, this is not in the realm of my reality, but more so in my wonderful fantasy world. There are many reasons why it is a good thing to visit WDW at least once a year and here are my top 12.

 

12. Visit Disney: Childlike Innocence

Walt Disney World is one sure place that as an adult acting your age is highly discouraged. If you feel the urge to get up and dance while the Festival of Fantasy parade is going by or you want to get a goofy picture with Goofy then let loose and do it. If you aren’t acting a little childish you might just stand out.

11. Eating Experiences

I’ll never forgot on one of my family’s Disney vacations eating at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe. It was the most unique dining experience I have ever had even to this day. The cast member who served us was absolutely amazing and even fed my sister her food like a choo choo train when she said she was done. This is what you get when you dine at a Walt Disney World restaurant. There are so many different types of dining experiences that you can’t find anywhere else, oh and the food is amazing too!

10. Wonderful Disney Service

There is nothing better than being on vacation and feeling like you’re the most important person there. Disney cast members take guest service very seriously and strive to ensure that you are well taken care of throughout your trip. Simply being referred to as a guest and not a customer says a lot about how they truly feel about each of us. I can’t remember the last time I had a bad experience with a Disney cast member. They are very consistent indeed.

9. Be Nostalgic

The classic attractions at Walt Disney World are just like a fine wine, they truly get better with age. Every time I take a vacation to WDW a must-do is to ride those classic attractions. Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Peter Pan and even It’s a Small World just to name a few. These attractions show the true essence of Disney and their superb attention to detail. These keep me coming back year after year.

8. Try Something New

There is nothing more exciting then when Walt Disney World opens a new attraction. It is a spectacle indeed. You can rest assured that whatever the new attraction is it will be amazing from start to finish. Disney does not build rides. They create immersive experiences that begin as soon as you step foot in the cue.

7. Always Changing

With each and every trip to Walt Disney World you’ll always find something different, new, and exciting. Walt was quoted as saying about Disneyland, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to change as long as there is imagination left in the world.” The same holds true at WDW.

6. Take Amazing Photos

I’m so grateful for technology today and the progress of photography. I can remember my mom having to purchase around 20 rolls of 24 exposure film; then when we got home all that film had to be developed. Around 200 dollars later we were all looking at wonderful Disney pictures, but also wondering which ones didn’t turn out or were lost. This is not the case today. With my 3 cameras, my phone and around 100 gigs of memory I can let the trigger finger fire away and get around 2000 or so each and every trip. This is just with my wife and I. I can only imagine how many pics my mom would have gotten back in the day with all the kids.

5. Put Stress To The Side

Each and every one of us goes through challenges in life. Throughout the up’s and down’s one thing that is a definite is that Walt Disney World is going to be there and it is going to make us happy. The feeling of setting up a Disney vacation and getting that confirmation is so exciting and motivating!! It can really help with getting through some tough times and can give us something magical to look forward to.

4. Disney Souvenirs

Disney handles merchandising better than any company anywhere. Every trip you will find new and exciting souvenirs in the many unique gift shops all around Walt Disney World. I always give myself a limit on how much I will spend and I go over that limit every time.

3. Travel The World

Not everyone is able to hop a plane and travel the world every year. Epcot’s World Showcase makes it a little easier to get a little taste of several different countries all in one day. This is Disney at its best with the authenticity even down to having cast members from the country they are working in. It may just be a sample, but it really does give you an idea of that country’s culture.

2. Pin Collecting Addiction

I told myself that I wasn’t going to get involved in Disney pin collecting when it first rolled out. I fought the temptation for a few years then I bought that first pin. Thats all it took. Now when I go to Walt Disney World I anticipate going to the pin section in each shop and finding a new pin. It has now become a tradition for my wife and I to get a different Mickey and Minnie pin each and every time we go. Yep, I’m officially hooked.

1. Visit Your Second Family

While at Walt Disney World each one of us is made to feel like we are all family. No one does it better though than the Disney characters. Every character that you encounter is super excited to see you and it makes you feel as if you’re visiting a family member after not having seen them for a while. This is why it is so important to visit at least once a year. Uncle Mickey and Aunt Minnie can’t exactly visit every Disney fan out there. There’s not enough days in the year.

Visiting Walt Disney World is such a treat and can provide some very wonderful memories that last a lifetime. An annual trip is something that every Disney fan would love to do and some are fortunate enough to be able to. I know for myself when it gets to be more than that 1 year I start to get a little antsy and find myself watching videos and looking at pictures from previous trips just to get my fix.
