12 Rides You Can’t Miss At Walt Disney World

Rockin' Roller Coaster

Walt Disney World has so many wonderful experiences to offer during your stay. From dazzling entertainment to thrilling rides, there really is something for everyone. It can be easy to leave things out when you’re trying to get everything done, but here are 10 rides you definitely cannot miss while at Walt Disney World!

12. Spaceship Earth

This ride may be the slowest of the rides on the list, but it’s also the ride you’ll learn the most on! Take a journey back in time to see how we on planet earth have evolved over the years through new inventions of ways to communicate and technology. You even get to create your future!

11. Pirates of the Caribbean

This ride has been a favorite at Magic Kingdom for many years and has many visually stunning elements that keep people coming back! With original scenes mixed with scenes from the films, there’s a little something in it for everyone. Just be careful—you may get wet!

10. Kilimanjaro Safaris

What beats getting to see tons of animals while still being in the most magical place on earth? Nothing! Take a guided safari tour and see everything from lions to giraffes to elephants, all from the comfort of your jeep. There are plenty of photo opportunities, so don’t forget your camera!

9. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

The newest edition to Magic Kingdom sits in the heart of New Fantasyland and is a must do if you haven’t been to the park since it opened or want a family friendly ride! This ride features rocking cars, incredible animatronics and plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat!

8. Soarin’

This ride is another fan favorite! Take flight and ‘soar’ over California with the whole family! You’ll even get to smell some oranges when you fly over orange groves and pines when you fly over the mountains. Be sure to ride this if you’re traveling to Epcot within the next month; this ride goes down for a makeover in January!

7. Test Track

The fastest ride in Walt Disney World is also one of the most exciting! You start by creating and designing your own car in the Chevrolet Design Studio. Next, you hop into a sim-car (be sure to buckle up!) and see if your car measures up to everyone else’s! The best part, of course, is the power test. Be sure to hold on!

6. Splash Mountain

This water ride isn’t your regular run-of-the-mill log flume—it’s perfectly themed and will keep you wondering when the big drop is! You’re bound to have a zip-a-dee-doo-da time down in the laughing place with Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear, Brer Fox and all of their friends! Just remember—you may (will probably) get wet!

5. Space Mountain

This ride is my personal favorite and is the only ride in complete darkness! Travel through space in a three-person rocket with the stars shining brightly above you. With so many twists, turns and unexpected drops, you’ll be having the time of your life!

4. Expedition Everest

This is the only coaster in Walt Disney World that goes backward and it’s another one of my favorites! You will travel through the mountains in search of the Yeti, but he’s very angry you’re looking for him! He will send you on quite the trip, so you better hold on!

3. Toy Story Midway Mania

This seven-year-old ride still brings in the crowds and is, again, another favorite of mine! Battle against your friend or family member in this 4D adventure as you play arcade style games with your favorite Toy Story characters! But first, you’ll take a walk through Andy’s bedroom and be entertained by Mr. Potato Head while you wait.

2. Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster

Can you handle going 0-60mph in under five seconds and two loops? If you can, this ride will become your new favorite! You get backstage passes to the Aerosmith concert and their manager has arranged for a super stretch limo to come pick you and everyone else up to drop them off. Hold on tight as you rush to the other side of town to make it to the concert in time to walk the red carpet!

1. Tower of Terror

Not only is this ride unique to Walt Disney World, it’s also the most well themed in my opinion. You’re checking into the Hollywood Tower Hotel, but you may not be checking out. The moment you step aboard the service elevator, you are entering another dimension—the twilight zone. Hold on tight as you go up and fall down the 13 stories of this haunted hotel!

While there are plenty of other great rides worth doing at Walt Disney World, these are some of the best that the park has to offer. You have thrills, chills and something for the whole family. Be sure to put these rides on your to do list next time you’re in the parks, especially if you haven’t ridden them before!
