1. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
You don’t need Big Thunder Mountain’s Runaway Railroad for a quick getaway. In 2019 – though no opening date has been announced yet – you can run away with all-time Disney favourites, Mickey and Minnie, aboard the Runaway Railway, set to replace Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ now-closed The Great Movie Ride. And it’s fair to say this attraction will take such a ride to a whole new level.
You’ll be invited to watch a new Mickey animated feature, and then, a magical moment later, you’ll enter the movie itself ready for a whimsical adventure aboard Goofy’s train! Described as “2D and ½” – meaning 3D glasses won’t be needed to bring this once-flat world to life – this ground-breaking ride will feature its very own theme song, and will even include more Hidden Mickeys than any other.
Whether it’s this year or next, Disney World will see no shortage of new experiences. But if you can’t wait, then just check out the brand-new ones that have already landed, from Disney Springs’ VR experience Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire to The Edison at The Landing in Disney Springs, because as the saying goes, “time flies when you’re having fun.”
