5 Resources You Should Know About If You’re Not Staying On Disney Property

1. ADR Parking

If you’re road tripping to Disney (or renting a car), the free onsite parking that Disney Resort guests enjoy is certainly enviable. However, you can still make the parking situation work in your best interest with some careful planning. If you make an Advanced Dining Reservation at one of the Disney Resorts, you are automatically granted free access to the parking lot—for the day! That means you can make a breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey’s and your car will wait at the Contemporary while you spend the day at Magic Kingdom. Or make an ADR at Cape May and walk to Epcot while your car sits in the shade at the Beach Club. You get the idea. This is also a viable (and completely on the Disney up-and-up) way to gain back some flexibility if the shuttle at your resort is not as user-friendly as you’d like.

Staying off-property has often been the best choice for my family. Sure, we miss the Disney perks that on-property guests enjoy. But by utilizing these five resources, we’ve made our close-to-Disney resort experience the best it can be. Check them out if staying off-property proves to be the best choice for your family too.
